Susan Hutchison Is Ignoring Your Questions

Posted by on Thu, Oct 29, 2009 at 1:29 PM

Dow Constantine is over in Electionland answering your questions. Because he cares. About you. About the county. He's so great. We're minting a Dow Constatine commemorative coin. But Susan Hutchison didn't show up. Which is so weird, considering all the nice stuff we've said about her.

Maybe because she knows Sloggers are irrelevant to King County politics?

And you're surprised because......

It's truly surprising that Mallahan even gives you the time of day in Electionland...

If I were advising his campaign I'd also tell you to go get bent.

She knows that the polls are in her favor, and that appearing on a local website like Slog would mean nothing to her overwhelming lead.

She's smart. This is why Dow is running scared.

RUN DOW RUN!

To be fair Dow has only answered three questions in 40 minutes. So I'm not really that thrilled with him either.

What does she stand to gain by participating? Would anything she said today, change anyone who reads Electionland replies's minds??

None of her potential voters read SLOG. Why waste her time amusing your made up minds?

@3: Pretty sure you're not fit to advise a bag of rocks on how to sink, but even then, campaign managers typically live within the boundaries of the current campaign jurisdiction.

All the same, I love how dedicated you are to Mallahan! I think it's endearing. I'm sure he appreciates support from out-of-towners.

Ignoring your critics and avoiding meaningful deliberation: the tactic of choice for shallow douchebags since time immemorial. I just wish it didn't work so well, so much of the time.

Dow didn't answer the question about the sexual harassment of a female staffer, yet he was right there with a Temporary Restraining Order when Keith Ervin of the Times went looking for the PUBLIC documents regarding the case.

So Dow, Did you sexually harass a subordinate?

Susan was a no show and Dow still got his scrawny ass stomped.

The Stranger is but a pimple on the ass of City of Seattle politics. And, sorry, but The Stranger doesn't even register as a pimple on the ass of King County politics.

@16 then why are you a regular commentator on Slog and Questionland?

Because I like both.

What does that have to do with The Stranger's influence on local politics?

Funny, but you know the only thing that produces less insight than Slog discussions?

No discussion at all.

I have a bet - for lunch - on how the online polling here does at predicting the actual results.

I'm either going to be very very full - or very very broke.

Don't let me down, SLOG!

1)Electionland obviously wouldn't spring for a teleprompter or make-up artist.
2)is The Stranger a huge influence on local politics? Of course not. Does it play just as significant a role as the other local media.

Yes, it does.

Is it changing the minds of 65 year old John Birchers? probably not, but for thousands of people in the area, The Stranger is one of their major news sources.

This is a truly terrible article. It actually makes me feel SYMPATHY for Susan Hutchison. She may be unqualified but this article was tone deaf and totally speculative. Dominic: the examples you use do not point to some "larger meaning." In many cases, they fail to register as anything except the jealous complaints of bitter coworkers. I hope no one reads it and votes for her just out of spite.
