"My God Is About Reproduction"

Looks like Loveschild put in an appearance at a hearing before D.C.'s city council earlier this week.

She's much too attractive to be LC. Add 300+ lbs, a harelip and curler-burns on her forehead and then we might have a match.

Check out this footage from the anti-gay rally in DC the day before:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHpvIK295…

Some winning lines include:

"Same sex marriage will lead to the extermination of the human race"

"How can we tell our kids not to some marijuana when we tell them sodomy is ok"

"We need to live in a civilized society with man and woman, no clones!"

"Same sex marriage discriminates against homosexuals"

"Don't turn DC into Sodom and Gomorrah"

Well, she certainly is passionate. Apparently, she forgot about the separation of church and state, and she may think the rest of us are sloths or rather prone to "leaving it to the snake" - and are willing to accept her opinion of her God, how she has determined we should live our own lives without questioning her. Hubris has taken control of her opinion.

Sorry Savage, not me. Not that it matters to you since to you we black people all look a like huh, regardless of age, and geographic location. I know that's the type of caricature you like to promote about black people (to the cheers of your peers and fans here) but it's only reflective of your ideology and not the truth.

Ms. Copeland's presentation was poorly made and incoherent, if religious justifications were to be made they needed to be made by heads of the church.
She could've instead presented the well documented cases of health risks that arise from primarily male to male sexual encounters and how those end up overlapping and causing widespread infections in communities of color, especially the African American. She could've also better rephrased what she initially stated concerning the disparaging insults that people like you mr Savage like to throw against the Civil Rights Movement and how there's no connection between being discriminated because of one's ethnicity and one choosing to engage in a behavior whatever it may be.

It's always nice to see you truly come out for what you really are, so that people in my community are not fooled by those like you.

Oh well, exactly, Loveschild is right. If there are well documented cases of STDs in the male homosexual community, we should do our best to completely discourage monogamy in that community by denying them marriage. Because when two dudes just have sex with each other and pledge eternal love, that gives us all AIDS.

22 Hello, Love.

Savage was well aware that's not you. It's called a joke, something people as ignorant as yourself and the woman in the video would never understand. Naturally, we know that Savage only goes after homophobic African Americans, and he *never* touches the white homophobes... oh, wait.

Also, the good old boys that used to go out and lynch african americans are the exact same kind of people that beat Mathew Shepherd to death. Don't you dare try to claim gay rights are less important than equal rights for all ethnic groups. And yes, being gay is as much a fixed part of yourself as the color of your skin. I couldn't make myself enjoy sex with men if you offered me all the wealth in the world.

And as for health risks, I challenge you to name ONE sexual act two men can do that I can't do with a woman.

Loveschild @ 22,

Bullshit!

1) Noone can confirm your ethnic claims. Remember your too frightened to show up at anything, afraid your life is at risk. That's your stated reason. So, since noone has seen you, then noone can accurately say that there is a physical comparison. Nor can they know were you reside, this is the internet. You just like to play the race card, because it's your justification for being hateful and it allows you to feel persecuted.

2) That woman's hateful, and ill thought out views match your comments. I couldn't even see the video, and yet the audio recording of her words match what you write here on a daily basis. Again, you want to use the race card, so you can say your persecuted and justified.

You present yourself as a religious Pharisee, and as an entrenced homophobic bigot here. If you don't like it than change it. You have the power to change how you are perceived, or find yourself a blog that matches your views and will pat you on the back. They have to exisit out there, you're always claiming your the majority.

At minimum, learn that if you spew hate than you will be judged by your words, as hateful.

if you ignore the fact that 1/2 of all gay people are lesbians who have significantly lower STD rates than heterosexuals, and also ignore that if anything, giving gays the right to marry would more likely reduce STD rates, and also pretend that elevated rates of HIV infection amongst african-americans would somehow become much worse if we legalized gay marriage, then this is quite the compelling argument you've made.

@22:

Wrong. DL and MSM sex have been disproven as causing the the sharp climb in STI and HIV infection rates in communities of color.

“We have looked to see what proportion of infections is coming from male partners who are bisexual and found there are actually relatively few,” said Dr. Kevin Fenton, director of the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD and TB Prevention. “More are male partners who are having female partners and are injecting drugs or using drugs or have some other risks that may put those female partners at risk of acquiring HIV.”

http://www.cdcnpin.org/scripts/display/N…

HIV/AIDS is the leading cause of death for black women ages 25-34, and 80 percent of new cases are contracted through heterosexual contact.
Posted by Baconcat on October 27, 2009 at 12:59 PM
Dr James 37
28- I presume this quote refers to the gay male population, specifically? Because lesbians, as a demographic, have considerably fewer STIs than straight women. Even if we take the premise that being part of a demographic more likely to contract STIs should somehow debar you from marriage to the consenting partner of your choice, the logical conclusion of that argument should be the immediate legalisation of lesbian marriage and concurrent banning of straight marriage.

27 Monogamy, if we truly want to be honest, is not a feasible option in gay pairings, as exemplified by mr. Savage himself. So the argument that allowing for gay marriage would equal some sort of containment of diseases produced by male to male sexual relations is not an accurate one. Explaining the health risks, and not condoning thru societal legalization to the level of marriage said relations will not do away with the spreading of said diseases but it won't exacerbate them either, as they would if the societal regulations like the institution of marriage and what it entails for a nation are done away with

By your logic, the abysmal marriage rates in the African American community should justify barring African Americans from marrying.

And again, what about the lesbians?
Posted by efs5r on October 27, 2009 at 1:16 PM
Loveschild 45
27 That should've said that, "Explaining the health risks, and not condoning thru societal legalization to the level of marriage said relations will not do away with the spreading of said diseases (completely) but it won't exacerbate them either." And in reality once adults have the knowledge of what certain behaviors can do to their health it has been shown that a good portion of them will end up making the right choice. However, if everything around them is telling them that it is okay to engage in risky behavior, so long as they use a condom (fallacy cause condoms are no security) if youths see that societal mores and well grounded institutions like marriage are condoning risky behavior and that the government approves of it, then we will get to a point where we will sadly see far greater and more dangerous strains of the already existing sexually transmitted viruses mutating, just to name one of the main consequences that are surely to arise.

"Heterosexual sex was the principal mode of transmission for blacks with the disease, 33 percent."

"Salaries of a majority of participants -- 60 percent -- were under $10,000 yearly; a similar percentage had never been married; and 43 percent were unemployed."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/con…

Clearly, heterosexual sex among blacks (African American, Caribbean, and otherwise), poverty, singledom, and unemployment are high risk categories for HIV and AIDS in DC. Blacks also have the highest rate of infection in DC (7% versus 3% overall, above source). Perhaps we should ban all these "behaviors" before we go after teh gehys?

It wasn't specifically me, it was Julie in Eugene, and you told her to suck your dick (your exact words). I called you on it, I said you sounded misogynistic and bigoted. You said that you forgave me for it (I'm guessing is that's because you don't see yourself that way, and the comment was truly out of character for you), and I said I forgave you for acting like less of a gentleman. So, it's water under the bridge as far as I'm concerned.

The point is, none of us are perfect, far from it. We all have the capacity to be unkind, ungracious, irrational... When I said here, I was refering to SLOG, and the universe as a whole. Foibles are a common to us all. I choose grace, I'm aware that I need it just as much as every other person, sometime in greater quantities than most if I'm really honest. I don't think badly of you, and I wish you well.

Don't worry. Please, don't loose sleep over me.

@77

Whoah, honey.

First, I can't remember the context (yes, you quoted me right, I think), but, if I remember right, my comment to Julie was a rebuttal for her taking a jab at my virility, and I think it might have been some discussion about the function of sex, which she assumed that I thought was all about reproduction. If I remember right, she brought up the point of oral sex, and I made a joke in order to explain that I do not believe that sex is all about reproduction, and not always "natural". In retrospect, my joke may have been in bad taste (maybe), since Julie might be underage or naive, but I hope she took it as she gave it. BTW, it had nothing to do with her being a woman. That's your issue.

Make no mistake: when I say I "forgave you", I was NOT saying that I am sorry. I was saying that you were rude and arrogant, and I hoped that you knew that it was out of character for you. Maybe it wasn't. Maybe I was too quick to forgive.

Okay, MikeC in YF.

FYI, Julie didn't take it as a joke, nobody on that thread took it at a joke. Humor is often lost over the internet, you might want to consider that once awhile. Especially, when you post not 24 hours later that you find blow jobs demeaning to women. So do the math, "suck my dick" + "blow jobs are demeaning to women" = I intended to be insulting (without your background, it was a joke, explanation).

Okay, so your not sorry. That's your business not mine. You thought I was being rude and arrogant, it's your opinion. That's what I thought about you at that moment, that you were rude and arrogant, and I'm allowed my own opinion. So, what we have here is two individuals each finding each other's comments rude and arrogant. Unlike you, I am willing to give you grace, that those comments didn't speak to who you are. I, still, regret that you felt badly about it. I am sorry. If you can't or won't extend the same grace to me, then that's your business. I'll survive your further unkindness. Forgiveness is a free will gift, without strings, if you want to withold it, have at it.

You don't know me, but if you want to question my character and judge me, enjoy yourself.

I forgive you.

At least she had to state her name. For now, anyway. Can't wait for NOM to start insisting that equity opponents should be able to speak in public forums without having to state their names.

How might I apologize to Julie? I'm new to the internet. I didn't know that she took it badly.

Did I really say that blowjobs were demeaning to women? Mmmph. They're not. Oh, please stop me from making a joke here. I can't imagine how I might have said that, you. Sometimes I drink.

I won't look up your comments about me, Kim, but I'm pretty sure you weren't kidding.

Stop judging me, you! I keep giving you "grace". Whatever.

I seem to be doing something wrong here, on the internet, as you assert. Please understand that (while I don't know you, Kim), I think you're swell. You're a rare individual, and I hope you'll never take offense from what I have to say. I can be a little awkward in my words. Forgive me for my stupidness.

No worries, Mike. We're fine, let it be water under the bridge, okay. I'd shake your hand if I could right now, but that isn't a possible with the internet in 2009.

You must have a cracker (an Aussie Anglo-ism for dynamite) sense of humor, and the rest of us will need to catch on. I'll keep that in mind when reading you in the future.

Next time you see Julie, just say it, she seems very nice to me.

Peace.

See you around SLOG.

84 I've seen you here before and if I'm not mistaken you have been the target of some vitriol here also, perhaps not by Kim but, good luck with her. She gets rather nasty when presented with facts that are contrary to her ideology. She started with me with the same pleasantries that she's showing towards you now but as soon as i presented medical and sociological prove that contradicted what she was stating here she got all high and mighty and started dishing out Ph.d, pedigrees and basically just showing a condescending attitude and when I call her out on it she then accused me of throwing insults. Unless you come to agree with her position on homosexuality you too will be accused of bearing false witness if you do it on religious grounds. If you oppose it on sociological, moral or medical grounds you will be accused of regurgitating 'discredited studies', whichever way, you will only be acceptable to her so long as she either deems you a caricature as Mr Poe was or someone who capitulates to her ideology.

Now, regarding this, I have been very consistent on my position. It just happens that it's either all the way or no way at all with Kim and others here. They happen to be quite intolerant on oppsing views, even when those views are in the majority outside of the blogosphere.

I support civil unions, domestic partnerships, especially when the people of the states have voted to institute them, i think that's perfectly legit. The problem I see is when such laws are used to litigate for gay marriage as has been done in other states, against the will of the people. Or when without their consent it's lobbied to legislatures who again without giving the people a chance to make their voices heard thru the voting process have gone rogue and instituted same sex marriage. That's just plain wrong, and not how our democracy of checks and balances work. That's why i supported financially from the get go Ref-71 way before the gathering of signatures, when everyone said it didn't had a prayer's chance, because i wanted the people to exercise their democratic right and have their voices heard thru their votes.
As 48 stated, due to what people on the other side have stated as to what their true intentions for SB 5688 and how they would use it ultimately for the repeal of DOMA, given how far this new expansion reaches and how little of a difference it leaves between domestic partnerships and marriage, i have my doubts. I believe ths is being used as a Trojan horse. I haven't heard anyone clarify this or reassured people like me that this will not be the case. Instead all i've heard is people like Kim and Dom calling us bigots or douchebags. If that's the case then in good conscience i cannot fully support this as i would like, this new law enacted by the senate and governor this past January with a total disregard for the people of the state.

@ 85, not ONCE have you presented a fact in ANY of your posts. (The bible doesn't count, sweetness.) And Kim only lost her cool with you because you've been the very picture of the nasty, disrespectful loser here. I've lost count of all the threats you've made, but it's more than the grudging apologies you've given. Don't forget all the times you've born false witness, accusing others of racism and anti-religious bigotry when it hasn't happened. (To be fair, there are plenty of anti-religious people, but I ain't one of them, and saying the bible isn't fact doesn't mean I am.)

MikeC, ignore LC. She'll eventually sell you down the river too.

Jesus - all you people need to take a break from teh internetz. This is like some sort of catty family bitch-fight up in here. WTF? It's a *message board*, people. You don't know any of these people and probably never will. Get over the drama. Go outside, take a walk, and turn OFF the computer. Remember: these are random people from a freakin *message board* - get over it.

Loveschild @ 85,

If you didn't want to know about my " Ph.d, pedigrees and basically just showing a condescending attitude and when I call her out on it she then accused me of throwing insults." Don't ask. Or did you forget that your the one that kept asking me questions? Maybe, you should try rereading your own words, before you start telling people that I was throwing insults at you. I don't consider my answers to your questions (and there were many) to be disrespectful.

Mike @70 - if i may add, Kim has always been very polite nice, willing to explain and stand by her point of view. LC, otoh, answers only when the reply, as she believes, makes her look "good". We cornered her many, many times, and each time she choses to play dumb and ignores our questions.

A few rare times when Kim lost it with her,well... even a saint would have lost it. LC has the ability to annoy the life out of you.

I reply to LC just to assure people that not all Christains are bigoted, hateful, evil, self-congratulatory, clueless, nasty people like her. Please, please, dont take her seriously, she is not one of us!

The biggest damage LC does is not to gay community,(they dont, i hope, care what that little fascist thinks) but to Chirstianity.

How am I supposed to tell Christians apart?
I am getting more confused than ever over this baby making stuff (I'm a agnostic sexual - that mean's I like to have sex for fun mostly with boys but girls with a strap-on will do in a pinch and I say "oh god - yeah - god jeeeeezuuuuzz!!!" when I have an orgasm) so I am not up on the baby parts. I don't want to make a baby cuz babies mostly poop - not into it (sorry baby fetish dudes)- but I know some people are into it. Mostly I noticed that there are lots of extra babies going to waste-I saw it on the TV-babies just lying around with flies on them which was a pretty crappy ad because most stores at least have a Two for One sale or a coupon when they have too much broccoli or whatever. Do we need to worry about making more if we already have more than we can take care of? Or is this another part of the bible I haven't got to yet? My understanding might be a bit off but the way I read it so far GOD made a boy out of some leftover mud and then borrowed some ribs for the girl (BTW I LOVE ribs but not girls-which is weird because I will totally eat a rib and if women are really just a big ol rib I would be snacking on them but even with a strap-on girl I am not eating the vejay jay-maybe with bbq sauce-even thought the bible doesn't mention BBQ sauce (I'm just starting with the bible and seen to be stuck in the BEGAT part right now-slow going - so I am not sure how this is going to turn out) next time I'll try.
So for right now it doesn't look like we need to make any extra babies-& I heard that the Catholic Church has so many leftover babies that the POPE is just buying new shoes and not making any babies at all and he even asked the Priests to quit having sex with boys-which is weird because I thought it was Priest + woman + sex = Nun - but math is not my strong suit and I am no expert. The lame ass bible I'm reading (got it for free!) doesn't have an index so I haven't got to the hot sex parts yet.
I have also heard about having sex with test tubes so you don't actually have to have sex with another person to make the baby-which seems sanitary if a bit on the medical fetish side (playing Doctor is HOT if anybody wants to play let me know) but I don't know if jerking off is the way to go. Personally I like to do that ALOT (did you know you can teach yourself to type with one hand? the internet is AWESOME) and maybe I could start a "make a baby j/o club" and help straight guys fill their tubes up to make babies-if this turns into a big web 2.0 business I hope somebody will kick me back some $ but there I just gave you a great idea! But apparently the Loveschild type Christians don't like this because its not "natural." And then the other Christians say that sex is Satan's way of making you happy instead of baby making and you shouldn't enjoy it because it's for baby making. So some of the Christians who believe in test tube sexing so nobody has a good time and everybody can get baby's without Satan getting a boner, and others don't. Which all kind of brings me back to this world wide baby glut we have right now and even with Celebrities picking up the slack I don't think that Madonna can get all of them because there is a crap load of extra ones-even Wal-Mart won't sell them so you know you can't even give them away.
Anyhoo i am going to keep up on my quest for the One True Religion because I have been to HELL (Renton-ahead of the curve my ass!) and I don't want to go back. So anybody who can keep me posted on which Christian is the REAL meal deal let me know - especially if I can skip parts of the bible I don't like - this begat thing is a boring; apparently baby making has been dull for Christians since the dawn of time!

MikeCinYC@82, you asked for advice on interet behavior. OK, here's one we all know and you just learned: it's really foolish to post when you've had a few. When you're drinking with friends and laughing, well, there are relationships and context and mutual inebriation to help people over any rough spots. But most of us read this blog stone cold sober, and what seems hilarious to you when you've been drinking may not seemly friendly or funny to your audience.

Even though many on this blog are viperish or snarky, there is a certain level of civility expected.

Maybe you could install a breathalyzer on your log-in?

as for the question - i 'd strongly recommend you to stay away from anyone who claims they have One True Religion. Why in the world do you need a religion at all? You plan to become a Pope or a member of clergy? there are honest ways a smart guy like you can make money, you know...

Thank you, you made me smile. My tip is don't take the Bible literally, read it from a metaphorical and historical point of view. Despite what some would tell you, you can indeed read the Bible seriously (recognizing that there are many myths within it, which also contain many truths) without taking it literally.

Tip two, try reading the Song of Solomon it has a lot of erotic poetry, and it an excellent cure for the begat mind numb. :)

Peace.
