Or is it 'Who's Waging War on Whom?'

Fox is for the mentally incompetent. Deluded, paranoid, bigoted and fanatical. Amnesia about the destruction caused by Republicans. And they have have been relentless liars.

Wow - it's amazing how Fox ruffles the feathers of a pluralistic society. A society rich in media sources for news and commentary. What's the nerve that Fox strikes? Why does it make Obama and the main stream media, including The Stranger, so paranoid?

I'll give one thing to Fox "news," they've basically cornered the market on mainstream television's right-wing fanaticism. The pissed off conservatives are completely loyal to Fox, guaranteeing great ad revenue for the station.

Fox News isn't the news, but they do know how to make a buck.

@3 I know they ruffle my feathers because the people who watch them claim they are the only "Fair and Balanced News Source" when they are clearly biased toward a super-capitalist, Ayn Rand, survival of the fittest, conservative world view. They aren't news, they are a propaganda wing of the Republican party. I know MSNBC slants liberal, but nowhere near as much as Fox slants conservative. And the people that watch liberal news sources are more likely to research more about an issue than just take a talking head at their word.
People who glorify Bill O'Reily and Glen Beck believe these sources as unbiased reporters. The only ones telling the truth. That's not news.
During the Bush Administration there was a lot of talk from Fox about respecting the office even if you don't respect the person who is holding it. They jumped on liberals for calling out Bush Co. for violating the constitution. As soon as a Democrat gets in the office, and not even a very liberal one at that, they go on to attack every single thing that comes from the Administration.
As soon as they stop presenting themselves as news, I'll be fine with them promoting the Repubs. But they better be taxed as the media wing of the party and not as an objective news source.

@3. I don't have a problem with the fact that Fox News exists. I have a problem that they call what they do news. That they present themselves as "fair and balanced" and unbiased.

Maybe all of the people who currently watch Fox News would watch it anyways, if the network was upfront about the fact that they are not "news" they are "commentary" or "the media arm of the Republican Party." But, there's a decent number of people out there walking around thinking that what Fox News presents is a fair representation of reality and current events (i.e., that Fox News is an unbiased source of information). I know at least a few of people like this (though, to be fair, I think that in recent years it's been harder and harder to deny what Fox News really is, so these people are fewer in number).

If I recall recently there was a federal court ruling upholding Fox News 1st amendment rights to lie.

A Florida Appeals court ruled there is absolutely nothing illegal about lying, concealing or distorting information by a major press organization. The court reversed the $425,000 jury verdict in favor of journalist Jane Akre who charged she was pressured by Fox Television management and lawyers to air what she knew and documented to be false information.

So of course Fox started this war based on lies against Obama. They started it during the last election, had their asses handed to them on a plate on Election Day, then decided to raise the level on Inauguration Day.

I'm waiting for a scandal with Glenn Beck or Limbaugh to emerge. I really want to know what Limbaugh does when he vacations in the Dominican Republic, where he owns vacation property.

"We're starting to look more like Canada than we maybe want to when it comes to healthcare"

As a Canadian, I don't understand. How can you be against our healthcare system? Here, if you have cancer, you can and life-saving treatment without ever having to question whether or not you can afford it. Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Thank God the Stranger is here to tell me what they're saying on Fox News. Otherwise, I wouldn't have a clue.

try and tell this to my aunt. and uncle. and cousins. and dad. they've already been taught (by fox) to summarily dismiss everything that mediamatters puts out (and the nyt. and ap. and reuters. and the guardian) as lies.

fox's audience is similar to biblical literalists - they won't listen to anything else, much less consider it. even though this entirely composed of fox clips, the imprimateur of mediamatters would invalidate the content.

and fox doesn't care - they're laughing at their audience off camera.

Foxnews and talk radio are the only places where real journalism exists anymore.

They are the only ones who exposed Barry Soetoro's ties to Bill Ayers and Rev. Wright.

They are the only ones who exposed Barry's communist "czars."

They are the only ones who exposed his persistent and pernicious attempts to transform America into a homosexual and socialist nation.

They are the only ones who see the creeping totalitarianism.

Dick Morris is right. Loyal conservative Americans will overwhelmingly take over Congress next year...that is if those elections are allowed to take place. If they aren't, then Foxnews doesn't have much time.

Plus, Mediamatters is a notorious far left smear site. All of those clips were taken out of context.

I found the answer to my question:

The Obama team isn’t at war with Fox because it’s conservative. They’re angry because Fox has embarrassed them. So writes Tucker Carlson.

@18: Maybe a few could have been taken out of context, that's possible. There's a few that are so short they could have, for instance, been speaking hypothetically at the time and we didn't see the setup for that. But not all of them at least.

Please, put Glenn Beck's "I think he's proven himself to be a racist" remark (found here at 3:29) in whatever context you please. Or the "God knows what went on behind closed doors" remark @ 1:53, and how that is not the most inappropriate thing you've ever heard in your life. Say what you like about the attacks that Dubya had to endure, at least no one ever accused him of having secretive homosexual liaisons with other world leaders.

I find it hilarious that the Fox News Cacophony of horror includes lots of comparisons of Obama to "fascists", "Nazis", "Communists". I find it funny, because their style of propaganda is EXACTLY like the Nazi and Stalinist PR machines.

Well, they actually go a little farther than the older regimes. Let's just hope they don't deliver or inspire others to do so. Oh, wait....

Where does Lord Basil get the idea that elections may not be held next year? Lord Basil, since you don't really listen to the news, here's some information for you: Glenn Beck is not a reliable source of information.

@23, just look at what Obama is doing to Fox News. The next step is forcibly shutting them down. If they can shut down a news network, can the elections be far behind?

You liberals won't know what you have wrought by electing this usurper until it's too late.

If the government did either of these things (Ban Fox News or cancel midterm elections), I would flip my shit, and I'm a Fox News hating pinko commie. It's a little ridiculous to assume that just because you don't agree with someone they are an unthinking Kool-Aid drinking shill for the other side.

By the way, even my tea-party attending, Limbaugh-listening parents think Fox News is clearly biased, they just like it that way.
