The Local Republican Ballot

Posted by Dominic Holden on Thu, Oct 22, 2009 at 9:49 AM

The right-wing recommendations are over at Sound Politics. Reject R-71, because it "threatens my right to hold a biblical view. What's next, polygamy?" They endorse a vote for Susan Hutchison for King County Executive, who "offers change and reform." And who do Republicans want to elect for city attorney? Tom Carr, of course.

I know the irony is not subtle here, but I still have to say it....

Polygamy is widely supported by the bible you hick idiot!

Funny that they also endorse Mallahan, even though Seattle Republicans are supposedly anti-tunnel. I think that goes to show that McGinn really is more than a one-issue candidate.

Rape is also supported, hell actually demanded in some cases by the Holy Bible.

So is the killing of homosexuals as I am sure those folks at Whitworth reminded you and Dan of last night Dom!

@2 Huh? It shows that Republicans believe, apparently correctly, that McGinn would be ineffective. If anything it shows that Mallahan is more than a one-issue candidate.

"Carr got an "Outstanding" rating from the Municiple League and besides, the cops endorsed him"

ahahah you have to be kidding

@4: but wouldn't republicans WANT an "ineffective" liberal instead of an "effective" liberal?

regardless, despite his vaunted "business experience", joe won't be one whit more "effective" than mike.

Those damn Republicans at Publicola also endorsed Tom Carr.

It is noteworthy that it recommends No on I1033.

@8 According to their logic liberals should have been promoting 1033 as a harbinger of a more equitable tax system. If 1033 passes, and it leads to an income tax, I'd have to give one to Eyman for the stealth liberal win.

Your pals over at Publicola also endorsed Mr. Carr. I haven't seen any commentary on that yet...

The 14th Amendment also prevents them from holding a biblical view.

@1 is correct. Half of the Bible we're talking about so and so having two or three wives and incest and King David and Saul having concubines in addition to their wives (plural).

Maybe they're reading some modern version of the Bible where they removed all the facts.

They have every right to hold a biblical view. They just don't have the right to make the rest of us live by their crazy beliefs.

The Republicans also endorsed Bagshaw, just like the fine folks at the Stranger. Way to pick them kids.

Your post is inaccurate. Those recommendations are from one person, Warren Petersen. He doesn't speak for the whole blog. If you look further, other individuals on that blog have given their endorsements.
