It's a runaway. Brakes failed at the top of a hill in Perm.

Don't stop in the bus lane in Perm. Their bus drivers play for keeps.

Perhaps our Olympic track team could use buses as a training aid. It appears that they help you run faster.

Any bets that the Bus Driver was drunk?

I'm assuming there was a bomb on the bus and the driver had to go 50 miles per hour at all times to keep it from exploding.

Sorry, need to reference bad action movie fulfilled.

The guy was running when he hit the street, before he saw the bus wasn't stopping and sped up. This is what I think happened: the light had just turned red for the pedestrian, and he decided to make a dash for it before the cars in the other direction got started. The car in front saw what he was doing and waited, whereas the bus driver (tired, distracted, bored, or drunk) just saw his green light and drove forward.

Love the Babelfish translation of the Russian description of the post on YouTube. "Supposedly the failure of brake system…. Man crossing road, clearly was born in the jacket!!!" Closest I could get on English-speaking Google to what the idiom "born in the jacket" means is "luckiest man alive".

Seems about right. Any Russian speakers here? You guys have any other fun idioms, or can explain where that one comes from?

@15 perhaps "jacket" = "straitjacket"? As in he is crazy? Just a guess.

Born in a jacket might be a mistranslation of the expression born in a shirt which refers to being born with the amniotic sack intact. It's supposed to bring you good luck for your whole life.

14 - the crosswalk light doesn't change at all though and the other cars are slowing down even before the pedestrian is visible.
