Of the Seattle Taxi Owners Association, who says Susan Hutchison is a "liar" for claiming in last night's debate that she has the taxi cab drivers' support. (The claim came right after Dow Constanine criticized Hutchison for suggesting that light rail to the airport isn't an urgent priority since cabs get there faster.)
Click on the image above to get a PDF of the letter—which includes a demand for an apology and retraction—that was just released by Gurminder Kahlon, president, and Manjit Singh, general secretary, of the Seattle Taxi Owners Association.
UPDATE: Kahlon, the association's president, was unavailable for comment because he was dropping off a passenger. But Singh, the association's general secretary, tells me the following about Susan Hutchison:
She never contacted us. She doesn’t know what our issues are. We are supporting Dow Constantine.
Cab drivers and members of the larger Indian-American community recently held a fundraiser that brought in more than $14,000 for Constantine, Singh added.
What does he think about Hutchison's claim that cabs get to the airport faster than light rail?
That’s true. Taxi cabs are faster than the train. That’s very true.
But it doesn't mean he hates light rail, and it doesn't mean he's backing Susan Hutchison.
