There's a young adult novelist reading at Third Place Books and a reading of a book about hillside gardens at University Book Store tonight. And there are other readings, too.

Gary Vaynerchuk, who is a famous wine guy, is reading twice today, at Elliott Bay Book company and then at at The Wine Outlet. His book is titled Crush It! Why Now is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion! It's about how you can achieve your dreams even through the worst adversity. A little later in the day, Kay Redfield Jamison, who has written a lot (and written very well) on bipolar disorder, also reads at Elliott Bay Book Company. Nothing Was the Same is a memoir about the death of Jamison's husband.

Jamie Ford reads at the Panama Hotel. Ford's novel, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, is now on sale in paperback. It is set in Seattle during World War II.

And Orrin H. Pilkey and Rob Young read at Town Hall. The Rising Sea is about how the sea is rising. Global warming is allegedly responsible. Let's go get global warming!

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
