First, the downtown library is hosting a free lunchtime reading of "The Wrong Grave," which is a story by the great Kelly Link. It's a scary story for adults. This sounds like fun.
Viktor Mayer-Schonberger is at Town Hall tonight. Delete: The Virtue of Forgetting in the Digital Age is another one of those tiresome "this is what's wrong with you kids these days" kind of books about technology. Also at Town Hall, we have Taylor Branch. The Clinton Tapes: Wrestling History with the President is an interesting book about a complicated man. The book has already publicly humiliated Boris Yeltsin, so it's earned its praise from me.
And Timothy Egan is at Elliott Bay Book Company tonight. The local author reads from his new work of historical journalism, The Big Burn: Teddy Roosevelt & The Fire That Saved America. Either of the presidential readings look good to me for the reading of the night.
The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
