The exhibition Parallel Lines: 8 Contemporary Seattle Artists at Wing Luke Asian Museum is small and just fine, but it yielded one discovery for me: Thuy-Van Vu, who makes large, sort of sad and sort of heroic paintings of things that have been torn down. I'll be headed to G. Gibson to see a full show of them; it opened yesterday.

Here's Remnants of House on Eastern Ave. from 2006, oil on primed watercolor paper, 51 by 86 inches.
