You're probably gonna be drinking this weekend, right? Well, why don't you put that liver to good use and help get Referendum 71 approved?

Thursday: Party With a Purpose! At Bottleneck Lounge, 2328 E Madison St. 8:00 p.m. to midnight. No cover! You donate by drinking beer! All draft beer sales go toward the Approve Referendum 71 campaign! Exclamation points!

Friday: Ja! Yes To Approve Referendum 71 (yeah, that's what they call it, "Ja!" like German for yes). It's at BalMar, 5449 Ballard Ave. NW. $10 gets you a VIP pass for discounted appetizers and drinks. So show up and make a donation.

R71 is very sexy and all, and it would be very shitty if it were rejected, yes. But the danger's not that great - especially not compared to the danger of I-1033 passing. And 1033 is just a crushing wall of suck that will irreparably fuck up the state's finances. So while you're out there making noise for "Yay, R71!" could we maybe also get some very loud noise for "Boooo 1033"? Please?

Sounds fun! I'm there. Approve referendum 71 and vote no on 1033 and everyone will be happy... and drunk ;)
