Koizumi Tonight

Posted by on Wed, Oct 14, 2009 at 3:26 PM

Two days ago I watched the entire 10-year survey of Meiro Koizumi's videos—which is an hour and a half long (ten years condensed into a feature film!)—twice.

And then I had very, very intense dreams that night. Mostly bad. I kind of loved it.

Koizumi's 10-year survey officially opens tonight at the Lee Center at Seattle U, where the party starts at 5 and then a big-screen showing of three of the works promises to overwhelm your brain and shut down your body with its bigness added to the already intense nature of the stuff, starting at 7.

There aren't any of his videos online, but his gallery is here, and a talk he recorded for the Mori Art Museum is here.
