Absolutely hilarious. And true. We need to be grateful and not impatient or pissy when things don't work perfectly. My kids think I had the worst childhood EVER because there were no VCRs (forget Tivo), no game systems (hey, we had Pong), no ipods (we brought a portable radio and shared our music) and we went outside....and played.

I am absolutely more grateful for my cell phone, my ability to wake up in one country and go to sleep in another country around the world and for learning what chai is than if I was born in a different generation.

I somewhat hate my dependence on a computer but it allows me to communicate with others about our school district in a way not possible. (Most of you don't remember phone trees but having e-mail and not those things is great if you are a parent.)

Be grateful for what we have today.

If he had any humility, Barack Hussein Obama (mmm mmm mmm) would have declined the award. But we know that everything he does is about him and his gigantic ego. My God, his head is as big as his ears!

That Louis CK clip is one of my all-time favorites. Hilarious but so absolutely true too. Every single person living in the Western World should be forced to watch this.

HuffPo this morning has a few words about who not to listen to regarding Swine Flu.

-And whatever you decide, don't base it on Bill Maher.
-Lives could be lost over this very stupid, unscientific "opinion" of Bill Maher.
-This is where Bill Maher is absolutely wrong and actually dangerous.

Lord Haw Haw @2 nails it. Obama's glomming onto that Nobel is so much tackier than the smirking chimp "flying" a jet onto a carrier deck at inconsequential cost so he could hang up that tasteful, understated "Mission Accomplished" banner.

The reactionaries obstruct change, and then complain that Obama hasn't done anything.

This whole Nobel thing is compound farce... a bizarre downward spiral into the absurd.

(And why does the MSM go to John Bolton for comments? WTF has he ever done? A short stint as interim UN Ambassador?)

Thank you for re-posting that video on the weekend of the National Premature Immature March for Equality in DC, where the Veruca Salts with gather tonight, beside the Fred Phelps GOD HATES FAGS folks, to protest the most queer-friendly President in the history of the Republic.

This Louis CK dude seems to think that a smaller phone, with buttons instead of a dial, is some measure of quality of life.

I'm thinking that people complain more (if they really do) because the landslide of marketing/PR/advertising has raised our expectations to unrealistic levels. We've all been force-fed a big lie from birth, that we're one gadget/service/toothpaste away from happiness. We're constantly told that cars=freedom, that credit cards are liberating, that 75 yr/old can get 4-hour boners. Discontent is more likely to do with the crashing of consumer culture myth.

For example, If you put a $400 airplane ticket on your CC after being told that you'll be in Hollywood in 4 hours - and that you'll be served gin and tonics by a sexy flying cocktail waitresses the whole way - and then discover that you're crammed for a whole day into a germy aluminum can next to a puffy tourist from Ohio - you're bound to bitch and moan.
Likewise, If you fly Aeroflot with a goat on your lap, and make it over the Urals without smacking into the side of a mountain, you THANK the lord, and high-five the crew on your way out the door.

Give it back? Nawwww. Just put it on lay-away, where he can pick it up some other decade after paying some dues and earning a few Peace credits.

True about the heightened expectations, but here's an idea to help make it stop: Turn Off The TeeVee. But nobody ever does. They just keep lapping up the bullshit and turn into these souless automatons who just buy shit and then bitch about it and then buy some more again and then bitch about it again. Lovely. Hooray for the American dream!

Louis C.K. is the shit. Why isn't he more famous? All other comedians seem to SUCK nowadays. I refuse to believe Dane Cook is the best living comedian out there. Every time I've searched Louis C.K. material on Youtube I've been impressed
