Cleve Jones on the National Equality March...

"Watch this Anderson Cooper piece from last night and pay close attention to Cleve Jones." writes Rex Wockner. "He is articulate, unflappable, focused, likeable, determined yet still polite—and everything he says is spot-on. I have never seen anyone from our side do a better job on TV."

Sheesh, Rex. It's easy to be unflappable, focused, and articulate when you're the only guest on a cable news show. Let's get Tony Perkins in there humping Cleve's leg and we'll see how flapped Cleve gets.

For the record: I'M KIDDING. I think Cleve did a brilliant job and I agree with Rex that Cleve could be a great national spokesman for the LGBT movement, the high-profile leader our diffuse, disorganized movement lacks. I'm not sour graping it. And Cleve's comments about moving on all fronts—marching, suing, lobbying, raising money, civil disobedience—are particularly welcome. Different types of activism appeal to different types of people. All types help move the ball down the field.

Anderson kind of choked on the words gay and lesbian... like he had a cock in his mouth or something.

Nice sports metaphor, "All types help move the ball down the field."

I knew Cleve quite well when I lived in San Francisco. He would often stop in after work to have a drink in the bar where I worked. He was funny, likable and always a pleasure to see. I am glad to see he is still doing good things. And what a stupid thing for Barney Frank to say.

I didn't know about Cleve Jones until I watched the movie "Milk" and the documentary which inspired it. I did a little research on him after I saw those two films. I thoroughly appreciate what he is doing, and how he expressed himself in this piece.

For the record, Dan, I disagree with this statement: "All types help move the ball down the field." That's not what worked during the Civil Rights Movement, and I don't think it works now.
