Glenn Beckwatch: Colbert's New Hero?

Posted by on Fri, Oct 9, 2009 at 3:14 PM

Stephen Colbert has just had a good long sip of the Glenn Beck Kool-Aid:

The Colbert ReportMon - Thurs 11:30pm / 10:30c
Bend It Like Beck

Colbert Report Full EpisodesPolitical HumorMichael Moore

I think this means that Colbert is preparing to abandon Bill O'Reilly as his ideological hero for Beck's loonier shores of libertarianism. This is a momentous occasion, and quite a coup for Glenn.

Beck may call himself a Libertarian but that doesn't make it so.

Glenn Beck is *not* a libertarian.
I think Colbert has been drifting away from O'Reilly because he is now one of the less insane sounding people on Fox (and this is an no way meant to imply that he is not coocoo for cocopuffs). Fox really has embraced the Palinians and given up altogether on attempts to appear objective.

"Beck may call himself a Libertarian but that doesn't make it so. "

All the old neocons now call themselves "independents", the same shit GOP under a new moniker.

@6, The difference being that Libertarians have their own party and well thought out platform (which judging by his rantings Beck does not subscribe to). The Neo-Cons have neither, PNAC having folded years ago.
