Thanks for the Auntie Mame clip, a truly top drawer choice. This and Cukor's The Women are my favorite Rosalind Russell films.

(mais non)

The most disgusting thing about the denial of insurance coverage for victims of abuse is that even in states where there is a law against it, it still happens. The woman in the story was initially denied coverage, and had to file a complaint to get the insurers to obey the law.

Mais non.

Not to pick on you, but any writer should think twice before trying to use a foreign phrase. The vast majority seem to get them wrong.

Or just use Google.

I took an archeology class in college to fulfill a requirement.

The professor jokes that whenever they couldn't identify what the true function of an artifact was, they called it a "ceremonial object".

Same with "burial sites". Even when there's zero evidence of anything funereal associated with the place, they call it a "burial site".

I mean, what stone age civilization would spend 90 percent of their GDP building a monument to bury people in? Especially when the life expectancy was like 30 years old...

I'd be happy to go first, Matt. If I could get the stuff. Which I can't. And God only knows when I'll be able to.

Maybe you should ask the ancient Egyptians.

If you don't adore Auntie Mame, there is something seriously wrong with you...

Rosalind Russell is a Master Class in comedic acting...makes Lucille Ball look like dogfood.

Maybe the Somali pirates were attracted to the ship because of the big white flag flying from the stern.

@14 You beat me to it. Lucille Ball getting the part in the movie/musical version instead of Angie Lansbury remains a travesty.

That Auntie Mame clip pretty much sums up the left/right dichotomy in this country. Her long, unflinching pause is just about how I feel most of the time.
