Sarah Paretsky signs at Seattle Mystery Bookshop (she was in town last night, too). Up at Third Place Books, Marla Fields and Cris Kessler read from Fresh Off the Couch. It is a fitness plan with an alleged sense of humor.

Jerome Gold reads from Paranoia and Heartbreak at University Book Store. It is a memoir about the heartbreak of working in a juvenile detention facility, and how it can make you paranoid, too.

Fremont Place Books is hosting a reading tonight. Melissa Peterman and Marcus Pape, the authors of Eat & Drink in the Northwest, will read tonight. There might be wine, too. That wine might be free. That makes this the reading of the night for some of you.

But for others, Craig Ferguson is at Town Hall. The very funny and charming late-night talk show host will discuss his memoir, American on Purpose. You probably shouldn't ask Ferguson about his boss, because there will be a very awkward pause.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
