Gillian wrote earlier today about new changes in library policy. I wrote about those a while ago. But there's some new proposed changes that make these new limits look like nothing.

Over here, you'll find the Proposed Reductions in 2010 Branch Operating Hours, including:

Operate the Central Library and five geographically distributed branches (Douglass-Truth, Lake City, Ballard, Rainier Beach and Southwest) seven days a week. Each location would provide 62 hours a week of public service.
...
The 21 other facilities would operate five days a week. These locations would be open 35 hours a week, seven hours a day. These branches would be closed Friday and Sunday.
The operating schedule would be:
Monday, Tuesday: 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Wednesday, Thursday: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
CLOSED FRIDAY
Saturday: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
CLOSED SUNDAY

You can find a list of places and times to suggest to our representatives that these changes and budget cuts are unacceptable here.
