Wait- so he was trying to cry ON PURPOSE!?

For some reason I always thought his demographic of country bumpkin hillbillies looked down on men who cry.

So he's performance art. I figured as much.

@2
He's made comments off his show hinting that he doesn't personally espouse the demagogic nonsense of his show.

What would really be interesting to see is a crack in Ann Coulter's facade.

uh, this is for a photo shoot.

i got bored watching it. is there a point where he says, "this is what i do to fake crying on my show," or something like it? otherwise, what? are you going to point out he wears make-up as well? and that that's not manly either?

or did i miss the point? i already hate what beck is doing based on the words he uses and the effect they are having.

That was WAY too long!!! 30 seconds would have been MORE than enough...

Possibly from the photo shoot for the cover of Time? He's wearing the same shirt and same background. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/17…

@2. Exactly! The man deserves an Emmy award but he'll have to settle for a key to the city from Everett's mayor. It was Everett wasn't it?

I think at this point pretty much everyone who isn't one of his hypnotized followers is well aware that Glenn Beck is a self-aggrandizing sociopath whose fondest desire is to watch the world burn.

Not necessarily Vicks VapoRub, actor moneyguru Ben Stein was a regular guest on Beck's show in the past. His shameless acting ("Obama is like Hitler!") obviously 'rubbed' onto Beck.

@9: On what possible grounds does this man deserve an Emmy? I've tried to watch his show (never got through an entire episode, my blood pressure gets alarmingly high and I have to switch it off), and I've never seem him do or say anything to earn an award.

Yup, I can see how much a true patriot and whistle blower like Glenn Beck terrifies you, which is why you must take every opportunity, however fatuous, to bash him.

The conservative backlash against Barry Soetoro (aka Barack Hussein Mohammed Obama) will be so massive you're head will spin, and Glenn will be one of the spiritual reasons for it.

Glenn Beck is Satan. But, this is for a photo shoot, the same shoot where the Time Magazine penis tongue cover came from. He's famously gotten weepy on his show, so the photographer was riffing on that. This video says nothing about why Glenn Beck is Satan, just that he's game when on photo shoots. No news here, and nothing nefarious about him at all.

And I'll give you three guesses whose book is #1 on the NYT bestseller list this week. (But not Amazon or Borders - that's Sarah Palin's book.)

Oh is this the Jill Greenberg shoot? As a photographer, it is interesting to see how she works. I'm not so interested in the clown she's photographing.

The sporting instigator-for-profit is far worse than the maudlin demagogue.

He's reached a new low and I know his demographic will make the necessary mental stretches to dismiss this but this video shows him for what he really, really is.

An agitator who's strongest conviction is "rock the boat next to yours for fun and profit".

The Salon.com article on him last week was a hoot.

@13

I really love that you picked Pony vs. Cowgirls Inc. in your Slog Bio. I knew it! You're so deep in the closet that you went through the wall at Cowgirls, walked all the way up to Capitol Hill, and ended up at Pony! That explains so much!

@19, I'm not aware of anywhere he's said that publicly, but he has said the exact same thing to me in private conversations, so I wouldn't doubt it.

And speaking of Beck, here's a link on how he was so into the new Muse album because to him, their music aligns with "his Orwellian world view". Muse's management emailed him not to endorse the record.

Um.. This was a photo shoot. What the fuck are you people talking about?

*roll eyes*

I am sure that he has crocodile tears, but this is a case of a PHOTO SHOOT. That girl wanted him "tearing up". This is not his show, these were not his people.

When you start critizing this, you make yourself seem like an ignorant jackass.

@12. Beck deserves an Emmy for playing Beck. It's a nasty job and it takes a seasoned actor with much technical know-how to pull it off. A select few have played psycho-villians better. Only an idiot can fail to notice the similarities between the manner in which Beck plays Beck and the way Heath Ledger played The Joker.

Next time you attempt to watch his television program watch it as a performance and imagine how much self-loathing it takes to play this turd day in and day out. Beck looks deeper into the human soul's darkest of dark pits than any actor I can think of, deeper than De Niro did playing Travis Bickle or Jake LaMotta.

Or else Glen Beck is one sick fuck, which probably means almost one quarter of the US populace are also sick fucks. Better to believe it's an act than have to face this ugly reality.

As a librarian let me add some sanity with practical and professional knowledge on the matter of the NY Times bestseller list: It is not a gauge or barometer of critical acclaim. Too many people think that because a title makes it to #1 it must mean that it is a good book and one of important value. WRONG. Caribou Barbie's ghost written book is evidence in and of itself of WRONG thinking. It does provide hard evidence of Gore Vidal's recent spot on assertion about "how dim-witted and ignorant" many, many of the American people are.
Does anyone know if toilet paper with Palin's face has been made yet?

I wonder if the Vick's Vapo-Rub is laced with toxins from Beck's own hemorrhoids? It would seem only logical for someone as vain as he.

I've also noticed that Beck has a face for being spit on. By what I'm not sure.
