Two Shows Added!

Posted by on Wed, Sep 30, 2009 at 12:26 PM

All previously announced HUMP! 5 screenings are sold out—they sold out in 24 hours—so we've added two shows: Friday at noon and 2. Once we get comps to all the folks who submitted films for HUMP! there may be a few additional seats released for other screenings. But we won't be adding any more screenings. These are the only two shows we can add to the schedule this year. Get your HUMP! tickets while you can.

Actually, we won't. Most years we announced six screenings, and waited till they sold out to announce more. And we added them one or two at a time because we didn't want to have two half-full screenings when we could have one screening -- HUMP is a very, very long day for me and Caroline Dodge, our events superstar. But since all screenings we've added have always sold out, we just announced the full slate this year. And it sold out in record time. So we squeezed in two more -- two more than we've ever done before. And we're not adding anymore. We can't. We're not doing a 10 AM on Friday and we're not doing any on Sunday (including a midnight Sat), as Sunday is the Lord's day.

This is really it.

Too bad the judges turned down the wonderful "Fifth Element" parody because it was "not amateur enough." At least we know you have, er, standards.

Harrumph, Hump.

Dear Andy:

We don't usually talk about why certain films don't make HUMP! usually. But I'm happy to go into it, and in detail, if you like.

If you missed out on getting into Hump but you want your film to see the light of day (or dark of theater), there's always SIFF - they just announced they're accepting works for next year's festival.

and STIFF ... one would expect they'd be eligible for that one.

Oh Dan, are you proud of your little cash cow? I mean aside from the Coors Light Army Block Party presented by Doritos and the Republican Party....

Yes, because it's totally a sin to make money by providing people with something fun to do on a weekend.

@4: You know what you should do, then? Set up a web site! I would love to watch a Fifth Element parody.
