I never liked Katie Couric when she was on the Today show or whatever. But I like these interviews where she lets her subjects hang themselves.

Making Beck look like a fool in an interview only enhances his reputation among his followers. The right wing has convinced their followers that the media is controlled by the democrats, so instead of seeing Beck as an idiot, they'll see Couric as having a "liberal agenda" and playing tricks and games on him.

Glenn Beck is such a hunk of Swiss cheese and all of his half-baked, in deliberate thoughts and theories have just as many holes. On another note, I was a little pissed off at the rather warm reception Rush received from the audience on last night's Leno. Must have been stacked with Orange County people.

Wow, Katie Couric is like "WTF is this asshole talking about?!" then she is probably thinking "goddamnit, he probably gets paid more than me."

That was remarkably awkward and content-free even by his standards. First he played coy, then he attempted to flirt with her (she mitigated her revulsion admirably), then he played paranoid victim, plugged his own site, acted indifferent, and finally just put out some vaguely nebulous implication (it seems Right Wing implications about the President are similarly couched and always on the cusp of revealing some unutterable truth that will be misconstrued by the "Gotcha!" Lefty Media).
The tactic?: Play it loud, brash, and ham-fisted for your audience, then do interviews with real journalists where you suddenly become quiet, reflective, and answer every question with a question. Either way, you offer up nothing of any real substance; you simply play on the perceived sympathies or antipathies of the audiences you deem "real" enough to pander to.
Nailed it!
