Carola Dunn is at Seattle Mystery Bookshop at noon. A "ne'er-do-well plumbing magnate" is the villain of Dunn's new book Sheer Folly.
Richard Bach is at Third Place Books. The man who unleashed Jonathan Livingston Seagull on the world returns which Hypnotizing Maria, which will probably not inspire a Neil Diamond album.
Colin Beavan is at Third Place Books tonight. No Impact Man: The Adventures of a Guilty Liberal Who Attempts to Save the Planet, and the Discoveries He Makes About Himself and Our Way of Life in the Process is an insipid book that had the piss taken out of it by a very good article by Elizabeth Kolbert in the New Yorker.
Charles P. LeWarne reads from The Love Israel Family: Urban Commune, Rural Commune at Elliott Bay Book Company. It's about how a television salesman started a controversial commune on Queen Anne Hill.
Jason Whitemarsh is a formalist poet who likes to write about awkward things. He'll be reading from his new book Tomorrow's Living Room at Open Books. I'll call this the reading of the night, because poetry readings at Open Books are always nice, thoughtful affairs.
The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
