Recently released campaign fundraising reports show mayoral candidate Joe Mallahan and city council candidate Robert Rosencrantz pulling ahead of their competitors. Since the August 18 primary election, Mallahan has raised a whopping $77,350 compared to McGinn's $23,196, according to Seattle Ethics and Elections Commission records. (Note: $30,000 is Mallahan's own money, despite earlier pledges that he would stop contributing to his own campaign after the primary.) Overall, Mallahan has out-raised McGinn four-to-one, reporting nearly $450,000 in contributions, which explains all those yard signs. However, Mallahan is in the hole $23,196 (McGinn has about $6,000 cash on hand).
Rosencrantz, meanwhile, has been out-raising challenger Mike O'Brien fourfold since the primary election, reporting $32,484 in donations and, overall, nearly doubling O'Brien's fundraising. And like the mayor's race, the front-running candidate is in the hole.
Also of note: City Council incumbent Richard Conlin is mopping the floor with David Ginsberg; City Attorney Tom Carr holds a slight lead over challenger Pete Holmes; and the two conservative Port Commissioner hopefuls are handily leading their progressive counterparts.
A spreadsheet of fundraising is after the jump.
