Posted by on Wed, Sep 23, 2009 at 4:19 PM

Do you guys like ghosts? What about ghosts in your bed? What about ghosts that track cocaine all over your hardwood floors? What about ghosts that bite women on the leg? What about ghosts that maybe aren't ghosts at all, just something invisible that bites women on the leg? What about ghosts that have something to do with L.A. party photographer the Cobra Snake?

WELL HAVE I GOT THE FREE MOVIE EVENT FOR YOU!!!

Paranormal Activity is playing, for FREE, at the Neptune tomorrow at midnight. All you have to do is RSVP here and you can go get the poop scared out of you by some ghosts. Women, hold on to your leg!

(Our review of Paranormal Activity will be online Friday.)

A scary movie that isn't just about a crazed murderer and excessive torture porn? Sign me up. I love ACTUAL scary movies.

Great. Thanks. Now I have to rush out of work to get from Ballard to the U-District to try to combat a bunch of college kids, and now I have to vie for a seat versus a bunch of Stranger Capitol Hill-ites? Thanks Stranger, thanks a lot.

Hey West, should you even be writing about horror films anymore? I mean, shouldn't you be held to your word? If you're going to rail, fairly indiscriminately, against an entire genre, then at least have the courage to act on your rants and reject that genre outright. Otherwise, it appears like you're just mouthing off. (You weren't doing that were you?) And by the way, claiming to "fire horror" and then making predictable exceptions for a few classics and more "arty" horror films is just a cheap cop out. In my opinion, you sold out your capacity to speak legitimately about horror when you launched your previous polemic. But, at least stand by it.

Hey guys. Scary movie, indeed. Don't ever get "engaged to be engaged" ever again. Ever. Again.

At the end I was thinking, "What WOULD a camcorder taste like?"
