Old people like suburbs. There are more places for them to ditch their Buicks when they nod off from prescription drugs.

On behalf of Real America where they play Real Football thank you Huskies for taking care of a little problem.
The BCS method of selecting the two teams that play in the college football national championship game placed undue weight on an undefeated record (of course the whole BCS is an abominable crapass fiasco...)
The result is to favor teams from weak pansy conferences like the PAC and the (so called...) "Big" 10 over conferences where they actually play Real Football (the SEC and Big 12, if we are calling names)
An average team (like UCS or Ohio State) in a weak conference can sneak thru without a defeat and get into the championship game in place of a much better and more deserving team that happens to play in a really tough conference and has picked up a loss (or two).
In other words a team like Florida or Oklahoma or LSU or Florida or Texas may have a couple of losses but still be a much better team than an undefeated USC or Ohio State.
The solution is for the over ranked pretenders to slip up and lose to one of the munchkins in their pathetic weak conference.
USC has been graciously cooperative in this respect, religiously (are we allowed to say that on Slog?) choking against a nobody at least once for the past 4 (now 5...) seasons.
Washington is the latest team to show up on the day the Trojans forget to, and Football Nation is grateful.
Ohio State has been luckier (or unluckier, depending on your perspective) sneaking into the title game in 2006 and 2007.
The undefeated #1 ranked '06 Buckeyes received a brutal lesson in Real Football from Florida, going down 41-14 (it wasn't really that close..)
The slow learners from Columbus brought high hopes and another #1 ranking to the 2007 title game, this time being dominated by the two loss (both losses to fellow SEC teams) LSU Tigers.
Hopefully we won't have any such embarrassing farces in this year's game.

So again, thanks-
you guys didn't do so bad for a bunch of punk ass faggots.

Can we just stop pretending that Fox News is "covering" the news and not manufacturing it? "Covering" is what journalists do -- they wait till something occurs and then report on it. The fact that the teabaggers basically have an off-camera "applause!" sign flashing in their faces courtesy of Fox News kinda says it all.
