Where Have You Been All My Life, Baby?

Posted by on Thu, Sep 10, 2009 at 12:51 PM

It was made in 1973. It involves a grown man whose abusive family treats him like a baby. His name is Baby.

Here's a short scene starring a cattle prod and clogs:

And here is a crucial scene is which Baby's barbaric mother is confronted by the social worker with the heart of gold:

Thank you, eternal Slog tipper Jake.

It's like a long-lost John Waters film....

I saw this earlier this year. Watching this movie is like having an incredibly strange dream - you can barely believe that you're seeing what you're seeing, and you hardly remember any of it once it's over except for a few indelible parts (the babysitter scene, for one instance). I think it's because it's all played so straight, so serious.

I've never seen anything like this movie and I doubt I ever will.

I see nothing wrong with the wonderful and loving child rearing demonstrated by this movie. Spare the prod spoil the child as St. Paul would say!

when will be seeing the Re-bar production starring Nick Garrison as "Mama, aka Mrs WADSworth" and Dina Martina as "Caring Social Worker"?

There is a true story about a mother with five children. She tortured one daughter by locking her in a closet and denying her food and water. Then she shot her and let her suffer for weeks. Then the mother became afraid because the daughter wasn't healing so she stole some equipment from the nursing home she worked and had her two sons pour whiskey down the daughter's throat while she performed surgery on the bathroom floor to remove the bullet. The daughter got a severe infection. It caused her to to fade in and out of conciousness. The mother made her two sons cut up their sister, put her in a box with the few belongings she had and burn her at the side of the road. Then she started to torture and eventually murder her second daughter with the help of her two sons. A third daughter barely escaped with her life and was a witness at the trial. The mother and her two sons were convicted of the two murders. I believe it happened in Nevada.

Are we sure this isn't the new reality show "At Home with the Palins" on E network? Tag line: "They can have Sarah's cattle prod when they take it from her cold dead fingers."
