Fox News Interviews Teabaggers

Posted by on Thu, Sep 10, 2009 at 8:05 AM

Some of them seem a little wishy-washy in their opposition—not a lot of teabaggin' passion from the first two guys. And watch how quickly the Fox Newsdouche yanks the mic away from the guy who says that he might be willing to support a public option (roughly 2:35)...

That Fox newsdouche must be thanking God for the crazy white lady he finds near the end—she may have saved his job. Via JoeMyGod.

That last guy, "I'm twenty one-twenty two".

That's the same thing I said in bars at age nineteen.

@1, ha ha, I thought the same thing - also, did it seem like he was reading off of a teleprompter or notecards?

Is that where real "voters" debate the critical issues of our day? I watched President Obama's speech with my teenage children, not in a saloon. Then we discussed the fact that our prioritization of our children's health care needs overwhelms our family's finances.

These are questions in the Newsdouche's world? "Did the President convince you? NO. You're against Obamacare? YES." Always insightful, Fox!

Newsdouche needs to learn how to ask open ended questions. How about "What is your family's health insurance coverage? How does paying for insurance and health care effect your family's finances?"

Jesus Christ! My hope for humanity diminishes every time I see these batshit-crazies in action.

I think the Dems have regained the momentum they need for a public option. It would be a real shame if they gave it up now.

Here's some wisdom that, like a bottle of fine wine, gets better with age:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Sorry, but Basil's statement, while completely and utterly off-topic, is still valid. You go, Basil.

@10 and @8. Way to represent the crazies in the health care debate! Are you intentionally hilarious or unintentionally tragic?

@10 The comment is still without point in the health care debate. That's the topic at hand. Quoting the second amendment for no damn reason adds nothing to the discussion.

I can just start quoting parts of the Constitution in place of actual arguement too: "[The Congress shall have power to] establish Post Offices and Roads."

Article 1, Section 8 is cool and all but it's not really what we're talking about.

One of the good things about health care reform is going to be making all these asshole 23-year-old healthy white guys start buying insurance.

"This guy's politically savvy... wait..." *yanks mic away* is he putting forth an opinion that disagrees with our rhetoric? "Do you or do you not[, you commie bastard granny-killer,] support a government option?"

Twaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!

@13: The point of bringing up second amendment rights in totally unrelated discussions is the same as it always is -- A: To return the discussion to familiar ground on which conservatives all agree ("my cold, dead fingers etc.") and B: To operate as a veiled threat ("Give us what we want even though we lost the election or we'll start shooting!")

Yes, yes. We're all very impressed at your well-regulated militias, NRA members. In fact, you've all done such a great job with that that I don't see why we need to keep spending 50 cents of every tax dollar on "national defense" anymore. Maybe we can use a fraction of the savings this will generate to pay for health-care for all. Sound cool?

lol I love how visible his "oh shit" look is when he pulls the mike away from that guy.

Also, #8 and #10: From one gun owner to another: Only pathetic pussies have their gun on their mind ALL THE FUCKING TIME. Guns are fun and (in my case) useful and all, but if you're turning every goddamn debate into a display of your commitment to the second amendment, chances are that you're a sheltered nerd who gets scared shitless every time he doesn't have a replacement penis hanging off his hip. Give it a goddamned rest already; nobody cares how much you love your little gun collection.

OK - about this drop in the President's approval rating on health care. Why do people assume that the drop means that most people don't want reform? Couldn't the drop be explained by people's disappointment that President Obama wasn't aggressive enough with his agenda?

19: Exactly. The kind of people who think that a public option is a bad idea are the same kinds of people who would never have supported Obama in the first place.

Hahaha, "Do you support a government run program for health care?" "Whatever it takes to get every person insured." "There's, ah, some other people over here!" [run away]
