Two Unrelated Bits of Book News: Private Dicks and Hideous Dicks

Posted by on Wed, Sep 9, 2009 at 4:31 PM

News Bit 1: Hachette publishing group has hired a private investigator to track down the person or persons who leaked Edward Kennedy's memoir to the New York Times last week.

Hachette corporate spokeswoman Sophie Cottrell confirmed that a P.I. was on the case, but would not elaborate on his or her identity or specific objective.

This is so exciting! I can't wait to read the book by the private investigator who was hired to find out who leaked the senator's book.

News Bit 2: The trailer for John Krasinski's adaptation of David Foster Wallace's Brief Interviews With Hideous Men is now online.

I do not know what to think about this.

I am hopeful about Brief Interviews, although the trailer seems to be pushing the comedic angle more than I'd expected.
