This Is How a President Should Speak to Students

Posted by on Tue, Sep 8, 2009 at 9:57 AM

See, the conservatives are right: No birf-certificate-deprived muslin fake-president should be allowed to speak to our nation's youth. That honor should be reserved for the real presidents, like this guy:

He really was like the David Koresh of the Right, wasn't he?

How much longer until the GOP goes up like Mount Carmel, with them throwing the gas themselves?

So Reagan was the first vegetable to be elected President?

Wow. I was too young to have any real opinion of him at the time, but he isn't really much smarter than Palin is he?

God, I miss having a President with the guts to say 'negro'.

Or, in other words, "negro, please."

you girls on the left have always been unduly impressed by 'brains'. intelligence isn't high on the list of traits needed for effective leadership. judgement is way more useful. Carter was quite smart, I hear.

gawd that was painful to endure. Please, no more Regan clips. I think I feel a PTSD relaps coming on...

I loathed Reagan as much as any other progressive. But I'll reluctantly defend his use of the word "negro" here. It was completely appropriate in the context of what he was talking about: supporting college education programs for African Americans.

You have heard of the United Negro College Fund, right?

But yeah, he definitely looks like he's in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's here.

Of course Barack Obama isn't a Muslim! That's just fucking stupid.

Barack Obama is a Black-Nationalist Christian.

@8 Agreed. His use of the word wasn't inflammatory or derogatory. I definitely wasn't old enough to have an opinion of him as president, but were all his press conferences like this? He's operating on the same level as Bush in this video.

Those kids sure looked fired up and ready to go.

I'm old enough to remember, and yes, this speech would seem to have been in Reagan's post-assassination attempt, slipping into Alzheimer's stage, when Donald Regan was actually running the show

Gary Coleman was asleep in the front row. That'd throw any speaker off!

@6: "intelligence isn't high on the list of traits needed for effective leadership."

I've noticed that's a common opinion among morons who vote for incompetent leaders.

Yes, but you vote for stupid people that happen to be poor leaders as well. Great at stirring up their base, bad for our country.
