Reading Today: Bumbershoot Edition

Only one literary event at Bumbershoot looks interesting today.

It's at 1:45 and it's titled "Manic D Press at 25". Amber Tamblyn, Jon Longhi, and Lynnee Breedlove all join forces to celebrate a quarter-century of a fine press that doesn't look a day over 18. While it's true that Manic D did publish Amber Tamblyn's book of poetry (which I have not read), they also publish a bunch of counterculture-minded books. It's not where you want to go for finely written, superbly edited fiction and essays, it's an important outlet for voices that otherwise would not be heard.

You can read about all the Bumber-events here.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.
