Worn Out

Posted by on Fri, Sep 4, 2009 at 12:30 PM

Yesterday Grant shared with us an only-at-Wal-Mart story about a grumpy old man smacking a mother's toddler. Today brings us People of Wal-Mart, a blog dedicated to photos of things (that you would probably only see) at the place where America saves money and lives better. Here's one of the photos:

Um, wow. That can't really be real.

Tip from Nika.

And when I'm back home in Montana that's all you see are those pictures except live. So sad...so sad.

There was a story about the blog on Yahoo's Most Popular News page at least two days ago. Stop being behind the times, slog!

She might be too stupid to actually know what it means? I'm not typically one to defend white trash, but it's always a possibility.

Her boyfriends take turns at her side stall in the walmart loo.

I would like to think that if that picture wasn't real that they would have gone through the trouble of Photoshopping her holding hands with the guy next to her for maximum effect.

But that's just the way my brain works.

I am not a fan of Sam Walton's legacy, but I find the idea of "People of Wal-Mart" one of those things that skips beyond "allowable snark" to "Perez Hilton style condescending nastiness by those who probably don't have room to cast that many stones." I say this as somebody who hasn't actually checked out the site but that's my initial gut instinct.

black swastika on white circle on red background has only one use ... Nazi Party.

I think it was photoshopped as well. The white around the swastika is too bright, compared with the white shirt of the black guy in the jacket.

I can't believe there aren't any pics of shopping carts with six infants in them, pushed by their almost-teenage mom. They must not have made it to the Shelton one.

@15: not a valid comparison. There are infinite shades of white when it comes to reflectiveness of surfaces. Fabric looks different than sweatshirt decal...

That would have to be some of the best photoshopping i have ever seen to get the digital camera blur and color wash-out so perfect.

Besides, she's wearing it to be "ironic" -- Just like all those Che shirts.

On one hand it is snotty, on the other hand, that's where these poeple, as well as many who are of higher intelligence, shop. But since Wal Mart is where these people shop almost exclusively, they are the face of the Wal Mart shopper. I think they took K-Marts clientel.
