Reading Tonight and Writing This Weekend

No readings tonight.

This weekend, Reading Tonight will focus on the good literary events at Bumbershoot. Of which there are, I am sad to say, very, very few. If you consider yourself a literary person, I would instead urge you to take part in the 3-Day Novel Contest. I've just written an outline for my three-day novel; I can't wait to celebrate my three-day weekend off from writing all day by writing all day.

There are lots of good music and visual arts at Bumbershoot, though, and you can find those here and here.

The full readings calendar, including the next week or so, is here. And if you're planning on staying in and you're looking for personalized book recommendations, feel free to tell me the books you like and ask me what to read next over at Questionland.

I keep reading this as 3-D novel contest and wondering how that would work.

Remember to look away from the screen every now and then. Also, maybe invest in some hemorrhoidal cream. Or Krazy Glue. Have fun!

Good luck, Paul. Remember: coffee is your friend, and sometimes your lover, but she can be a harsh mistress.

Was gonna do it. Saw the entry fee (makes sense, I'm kind of sick of NaNoWriMo begging for donations), and realized I couldn't do it officially. Thought about doing it unofficially. Realized I have other writings that could be finished over the weekend.

Good luck, can't wait to see the results!

I've been trying to write a novel for almost three years and have *maybe* three chapters written, assuming any of it is even any good.*

*none of it is any good.
