According to the secretary of state's office, the final breakdown of signatures for Referendum 71 is 121,847 valid signatures and 16,034 invalid. The measure needed 120,577 signatures to qualify for the ballot. A case is pending in King County Superior Court, where Judge Julie Spector will decide tomorrow if 30,000 questionable signatures may be counted—or if the case was even filed in the correct county. After the results are certified, there's another five-day window to challenge the petition in court. But, barring an act of gay-lovin' Jesus, R-71 will be on the ballot. And remember, to uphold the domestic-partnership bill, "APPROVE" Referendum 71.
