If you live in Seattle and you get a call tonight from Congressman Jim McDermott, it's about health care reform—specifically, an invitation to join McDermott on one of those newfangled "telephone town halls" that members of Congress have been embracing during this summer to health care mayhem. Stay on the line if you like, but if you prefer your health care debates live and in the flesh then tomorrow's the main event:

On Tuesday, September 1, Rep. McDermott will host a town hall meeting from 7:00 — 8:30 p.m. Pacific at the University of Washington, Meany Hall. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. and seating will be on a first come basis. Meany Hall can accommodate 1,200 people, with additional capacity just outside the auditorium, if necessary. The site was selected because of its large capacity, readily available parking and mass transit options.

How many anti-reform crazies are there in Seattle? We're about to find out.

I'm going in drag to protest those filthy Democrats for not including a death panel to kill my rude nasty bitchy grandmother.

I mean that's why I voted for them in November!!

since bagdhad jim gets re-elected with 80% of the vote, any teabaggers won't be from the 7th.

expect the larouchies in full force, however.

Signs, Abusive language, and Guns are not permitted in Meany Hall.

Although you're welcome to wear your Birther Tin Hat.

Will @3, I expect that people openly carrying guns won't be allowed into Meany Hall, but unless they set up metal detectors I don't see how they could actually prevent it. Technically people could try to open carry at this event. I'm pretty sure they'd be asked to leave and/or charged with trespassing depending on the temperament of the campus cop.

I'm not advocating the carriage of firearms to this event, mind you. Just making a point.
RCW 478-120-020(3)(f) regarding weapons on campus only applies to students at the UW.

Signs and abusive language are protected by the 1st amendment, I expect the LaRouchebags will make full use of both.
