Garfunkel and Oates: Tonight at Re-bar!

Posted by on Sat, Aug 22, 2009 at 3:29 PM

Tonight's G&O show is sold out—technically—but rush seats will be released before the show. We were able to get seats for everyone who rushed last night's sold out show, so come on down. Details here.

I took my wife to the show last night and had a great time.

So is it a doors at 7 show at 8 kind of thing? Or does it really start at 7?

The show was great last night. G&O didn't go on until almost 9pm though (there was an opening act @ 8).

This is a sociology experiment right? Promoting this over and over and over is your own personal 'the emperor has no clothes' experiment, isn't it?

When's the reveal? When are you going to finally rebuke people for being so devoid of taste and easily manipulated, gullible livestock?

I thought somewhere after the first or second G&O post you were going to do it and finally explain the ruse, but man you're dragging this on forever. Get to the part where you expose the clever psychology behind this or I might start believing you're serious about these chicks.

I mean, come on, we live in a city with hundreds of real, intelligent, sincere musicians (among tens of thousands of bad ones) and you choose to promote a couple of talentless cutesy girls? This surely is a joke.

Last night's show was funny. Better than I expected.

Opening act/guy was pretty fun as well. Played/spoke from about 8:05-8:30. G&O took the stage around 9pm and played for about an hour.

Note to "Scott" at the Sat. show: Nobody came to hear you do jokes. Can it.

Seriously. Seeing someone on the internet is not the same as knowing them. Shhh, we did not pay to listen to you.

The Sat. show was great, save for a couple of drunk douchebags -- but G&O can write a song about them. And why exactly do people post scathing slog comments on a Saturday night? Is it a (pathetic) cry for help?

That was so much fun! Thanks for making it happen, Dan!

@14 - I was going to say the EXACT same thing. I finally said "Oh, SCOTT!" at one point after a bad joke and he seemed to get the hint.

Otherwise, great show - and they couldn't have been funnier or nicer.

scott was the guy who kept trying to make the night 'take a turn for the douche' as they say. shouting in 'funny' jokes when G&O were trying to tell stories about where their next song came from, etc.

but, yes. AWESOME show! super funny, super entertaining. LOVE them.

@23 - one time. It was funny one time, with an appropriately placed "That's what she said." And my grandmother can use that joke well. Scott was as funny as my nona...which is to say, not.
