Meanwhile, Up North

Just six months before the Vancouver winter Olympics, the president and entire board of Tourism BC have been suddenly dismissed (or "turfed," as they say up north). This story seems to say that it's no big deal, but clearly, the timing is quite odd. Who knows why Canadians do what they do?

The Vancouver 2010 logo is "an inukshuk, a traditional stone sculpture used by Canada's Inuit people."

One thing I know is Yanks whining about something Canadians did means they'll do the exact opposite of what you want.

Just offer them some Tim Hortons and a Kokanee and they'll crack.

Am I the only one who sees the Vancouver Olympics logo and immediately thinks of the Rush album "Test For Echo"?

Inukshuks are awesome. Also, everybody should read Matthew Johnson's short story "The Coldest War." It was in Asimov's a few months ago.
