Was It Something I Said?

Doubt it. But, all of a sudden:

Congressman Brian Baird is reversing himself, abandoning his stated terror of town hall meetings, and scheduling five of them, the first set for next Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the office of Congressman Jim McDermott tells me a public town hall meeting is in the works. Similarly, the office of Congressman Jay Inslee says it's planning two in-person town hall events in Washington State, one on Aug. 29 and one on Aug. 30 (locations and times still TBD).

“I don’t remember a time that Jim McDermott’s ever walked away from a fight," McDermott's spokesman, Mike DeCesare, told me.

“We certainly would never back down from it," said Sharmila K. Swenson, District Director for Inslee. "He doesn’t have any fears of what would come his way at the meetings.”

Teabaggers, take note.

I sincerely hope it was something you said. I'd love for your star to rise (along with Jonah's, for that matter) and for Dominic "I'm obsessed with pot" Holden and Christopher "Fixie" Frizzelle to move on to writing full-time for NORML and a high school paper, respectively.
