I Thought We, Er, Licked Santorum Already

Posted by on Wed, Aug 12, 2009 at 7:55 AM

Rick Santorum is thinking about running for president in 2012. Politico cites Santorum's interest in the race as evidence of the 2012 GOP presidential field's "unusual fluidity."

It wouldn't be the first time that Santorum was associated with an unusual fluid.

I don't think Santorum on the White House would be a good idea. Imagine the laundry bills! and cleaning all that marble!

Well, there goes my morning coffee.

Thanks, Dan.

Santorum is a stain in the bed linens hamper of history. 2012 is going to be Mitten's turn to run. (Unless there is a meltdown on Romney's part.)

I agree with #5. It would be SO much fun to have him deep in the public eye for a year, campaigning, making more and more a fool of himself, and hopefully a sex scandal... man, it would be FUN!

LC has some unusual political views, given her profound hate for teh gays. It's alright if she crosses over to the side of goodness and light once in a while.

When you're preparing for a rout that you can't avoid, you put the pieces you can afford to lose up front first.

4, That's odd because you have more in common with Santorum than you do Obama.

@3 Poor Mittens! Yes, 2012 is his turn to carry the banner, and he's working hard to position himself, and certainly the corporate/country club republicans want him, and all it would take is for the economy to re collapse in the next couple of years to give him a real chance of winning. But the crazies on his side are going to undo whatever chance he has. Palin, Gingrich, and now Santorum. Can Tancredo and Alan Keyes be far behind? What other looney tunes republican will crawl out from under a rock clutching fake Kenyan birth certificates in their sweaty little paws? Michelle Bachman, perhaps? The political conversation during the republican primaries, egged on by the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glen Beck and Lou Dobbs will begin to resemble the asylum scene in "12 Monkeys". Poor Mittens. Poor, bland, white bread, uninteresting, no charisma, SANE Mittens. How is he gonna compete with teh crazy?

Every comedian in the country is praying for a Palin-Santorum 2012 ticket. The material just writes itself.

@21 Exactly! The Comedy Writers Guild will certainly endorse that ticket.

Isn't it about time we had another Savage-led word creation?

palin (pa'•lən)--the act of failing to seductively wink at an audience.

Usage: "She was palining at the blonde man across the room, even after his look of disgust."

Well, if Rick Santorum runs for the presidency in 2012, I will campaign actively against him. Perhaps a good strategy would be to re-label some sanitary wipes as Santorum Wipes and pass them out by the millions.
