Holy Shit, It's Time for Slog Happy!

Posted by on Tue, Aug 11, 2009 at 3:16 PM

Slog Happy is THIS Thursday at the (still kind of new) Twilight Exit on Cherry St!

We had Slog Happy at the old Twilight Exit back in December, right before the bar packed everything up and moved on down the road to 2514 E Cherry St. It's about time we go see what the new space looks like, don't you think? The drink specials are amazing too—$2.50 wells, $3 micros, and $1.50 PBRs.

Also: Twilight is also still home to the infamous chicken-fried bacon, should you want a plate of heart-attack. Aaaand, the back patio will also be open, should it not be raining that day (although weather.com is predicting that it will).

Either way, I'll see you on Thursday, lovelies!

Nice! I had a great time when you had it at the old Twilight Exit. It's been a couple months since I made it to a Slog Happy, I'm looking forward to it!

@2 I want to! But I worry about the layout of the bar--doesn't make for easy mingling, really. We could always give it a shot, though. They make a delicious Shirley Temple with a squirt of fresh lime!

Also: squirt is a weird word.

the patio might still be open during light rain, there are sort of fabric sail things over the space that could potentially shield from sprinkles.

I'd be there for sure if you could guarantee the appearance of Loveschild.

I can't remember if that's ranch or gravy that comes on the side. Their steaks and burgers are awesome as well (aged and ground in-house.)

@12: I think it's gravy. I can stomach (physically and mentally) about one piece of chicken-fried bacon before I give up, but it's a sweet, sweet crunchy piece of heaven.

Also: Fireball shots and Oly!

I have a dear lesbian friend that I frequently (for me) visit the Twilight with. Perhaps I can coax her out that evening.

Or The Colonel. I can ask The Colonel, but he's not much of a drinker.

Either way, I'm torn between actually showing up, or preserving The Catalina Mystique. I'm much more boring in real life - and I pride myself on being the sedate voice of the Slog.

And, for the record, there's no champagne fountain at the Twilight. I checked.

I think I can be there, but I may have to cut out a little early. Y'know, it's Big Lebowski night at Redhook.

@10/@12: It's definitely country gravy. Mmm, country gravy...

I haven't been over to the new Twilight yet so I'm glad to have an excuse!

I might come, but be warned; I reserve the right to punch the first person who whines "what happened to our summmmerrrrrr?" after having whined about the heat two weeks ago.
