The Pompeii of Newspapers

Today on Reflections of a Newsosaur, Alan D. Mutter writes about the website for the Rocky Mountain News, the newspaper shuttered almost six months ago: Its website hasn't been touched since its last day. Except for the weather (there's a weather icon, clearly on a feed from somewhere else, in the top portion of some pages). Mutter calls the site "frozen in time" and "an uncomfortably maudlin reminder of the paper's demise." It's true: It's like poking around in a dead kid's bedroom.

Pompeii was the Roman version of Sodom utterly destroyed by fire....

What a strange thing to say. Are you implying that Pompeii and the Rocky Mountain News brought divine retribution upon themselves for raping angels?
