Now With More Obama

Posted by on Mon, Aug 10, 2009 at 6:34 PM

The newest reelection ad for Mayor Greg Nickels:

Nickels has been "playing rope-a-dope with a relentless barrage of negative attacks from challengers," his campaign said today. Joe Mallahan and Mike McGinn are gaining ground, and challengers have made no bones about capitalizing on Nickels's previous ad, which opened by admitting, "As mayor, I've made my share of mistakes." But Obama makes you forget all of those mistakes.

Obama's mistakes are so much larger, they dwarf the buffoonery of Seattle local Democrat mayors.

Can anyone actually prove that Seattle has a mayor?

@4

Yes he is that bad. Nightlife here is like a police state in Utah compared to other cities thanks to our mayor's war on Loud Noises.

Nickels is awesome. Mallahan is the Seattle Grey Davis and Mike McGinn isn't qualified ot be Mayor of Wasilla.

It must disappoint Team Nickels that they are outspending McGinn 10 to 1 and still losing vote share to him. Sounds like the frustration boiled over today.

Guess that a vote against Nickles is a vote against Light Rail. Glad to see the money pit get mothballed before it kills again.

@1, @4, @7 ...so, paid Nickels campaign staff members have finally discovered the internet!

Welcome, and do not fret too much about the wording of your comments. Regular readers of The Slog are smart enough to ignore these as part of the Nickels Machine.

We're still voting for McGinn!

Re: Light Rail - Nickels was the finance guy on the Sound Transit board in the '90s. That's why I can't believe he was elected mayor in the first place.

I'll at least give him credit for admitting in his campaign that he made mistakes rather than take the usual tactic of pretending they never happened. Whether or not he atones for them is another matter, but still that's something.

@12, thank you for pointing that out. Everyone seems to forget the amount of money he "lost" while he was on the Sound Transit Board.

And why did he become mayor? MARK SIDRAN!!! That's why. Oh and Paul Schell was an idiot.
