Maybe we'll see some union member vs. teabagger action as soon as this weekend?

Re: your post this AM about the town hall tomfoolery: I commute from Bellingham to Mt Vernon and heard the bus's resident Loud Republican expounding about Rick Larsen coming to town this weekend (specifically, the Skagit PUD for a townhall at 2 pm, Saturday).

The basic gist was that he and "the boys" were excited to try their hand at tea-party thuggery. He then spent a while scoffing at the idea that the "mean old insurance companies" were the ones motivating or inspiring his righteous citizen outrage. This, by the way, is a man who carries his own camping stool in his backpack so he doesn't have to stand while waiting for the bus.

Looks like Larsen is also heading out to Whidbey. If you were masochistic enough to want to see these idiots up close...

Devin's correct. Congressman Rick Larsen has three public events coming up here in Washington to discuss health care reform.

So: Local union types? Are you answering Sweeney's call and heading out to the Larsen events? Let me know.

My union is so full of conservative dumbshits that they'll probably be there with the thugs.

Currently, our local union president is working out of class as a manager for a city department, and none of the members seem to think that's unacceptable.

And people wonder why there's so few unions anymore.

What we should do is buy a bunch of brown shirts and throw them at these asswipes when they start their thuggery yelling "Put your damn uniforms on all already!!"

Maybe the Union stooges should think about why they are being petitioned to go to these meetings, maybe the "thugs" that you are so concerned about are really just normal Americans who are concerned. Maybe Patrick Henry was a "thug" because he cherished Liberty so much, maybe Thomas Jefferson was as bad as a domestic terrorist because he was passionate about Individual Rights. Could it be that the same people that say they Love America are actually willing to stand up and defend her when they see her assaulted?
