The Birthers, the tea-baggers, the people interrupting health care town hall meetings—the Democratic National Committee finally calls them what they are:

Good Morning Eli,
I agree the birthers are fools but the media is spending too much time on them.
Consider this:

Like those that associate 9/11 with Bush, the birthers are rantors. All sides have their weirdos.

I tried calling that number to tell them I'd had enough of the mob, but then a bunch of people started yelling at me to show them my (long-form) birth certificate.

Good.

On MSNBC they were debating the right wing talking point that this is just freespeech....the hosts bought it and even that fellow Ratigan said the constitutional convention had the same kind of mob tactics and vigorous disruptive loud argument back in 1787

A total fib, lie, and distortion.
There was no mob rule inside the meeting hall, the public outside wasn't even allowed to know what was going on, they had due process with committees, votes and my god, freakin' George Washington as chair wouldn't be letting nobody disrupt anything!

The way even the left accepts the right wing lying talking points is just amazing.

They whetted their appetite for this in the Florida recounts and staged demonstrations outside the VP mansion in DC when Bush got into the white house. Democrats didn't call them on it then -- they dind't tell the nation this is wrong, immoral, illegal and manufactured in a cynical way. Glad they are finally stepping up now.

Why is it that the Right wing freaks behave this way and the far left progressive freak folks seem to only whine about it? The right wing people show up to the meetings, the left wing people are doing what, where are they?

@9 Perhaps if it was actually relevant and perhaps actually truthful you may have a point. But then honesty and truth never matters much to trolls like yourself and Loveschild.

It's up to those who have come to Town Hall meetings to actually discuss issues in a productive way to call out and shout down those who simply want to obstruct the public debate.

A year ago all the press talked about "Smart Mobs".

Now they are "Dumb Mobs".

Go figure...

So, just to be clear, the only difference between what the MSM calls a "mob" and what the MSM calls a "grass roots movement" is political ideology? Got it. (Without that important distinction its very hard to tell a truth-er from a birth-er from a code pink-er from a tea bag-er...)

i don't think you can paint health care protesters with birther paint. and really this all looks like pissed off dems circa 02-03 during the runup to the iraq war. in other words, no biggie.

The GOP Puppet Masters are a crafty bunch. They have placed a forward on this phone number. If you press "one" you will be forwarded to the DNC. So, the GOP are spineless bastards, yet crafty.

Protesting an illegal war is very different from protesting attempts to equalize/reform health-care insurance. Thanks for the hyperbole though!

Can we just give them a state or two and let them set up their own banana republic? I suggest Florida and/or Idaho.
