Clinton And The Hostages

Posted by on Wed, Aug 5, 2009 at 10:58 AM

Having received no fewer than three press releases about this from Bill Clinton's spokesman this morning, I know he thinks the release of Laura Ling and Euna Lee is a big deal. And it is a big deal:

But, of course, the political questions: Did Bill once again upstage Hillary? Did he also upstage Obama? Was that just what the North Koreans wanted? Is Al Gore's cable channel finally going to take off as a result of all the attention? And, of course: Is our Secretary of State still considered by North Korea to be a "funny lady"?

For now, the official line: Everyone's happy, everyone's relieved, and everyone, once again, loves Bill.

Uhhh....this is exactly what the Obama administration wanted. They were negotiating with North Korea via their UN envoy, then they sent Clinton to pick them up. Clinton is basically the face of this. They are able to resolve the conflict without giving legitimacy to North Korea, which would have occurred if Hilary or Obama got involved.

Now that these two women left, won't Kim Il Jong be ronery?

Those aren't "political questions," dimwit. Those are gossip questions. You should give Maureen Dowd a call and ask her. Otherwise, who the fuck cares?

You’re cheering now, but just wait till you read the Starr report on what Bubba had to do to Kim Jong Il to seal the deal.

P.S: Don’t eat hot dogs or oysters for lunch.

Kim Jong is a real groupie. Bill Clinton is a very famous, IMPEACHED, lying, crooked sex predator, trailer-trash dirt-bag (and I still think he and Hillary had Vince Foster, as well as other political opponents murdered).

And NK has Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter to thank for some of their nuclear technology. Carter, the old senile meddler was sent to NK by Clinton the irresponsible. Carter was totally taken for a fool by NK.

Also, Barack Hussein Obama needs time to mobilize ACORN for some fake pro Socialist Health Care rallies to create a distraction from patriots who want to know if he is eligible to be POTUS.

But the real story here is Clinton gladly casting aside the dignity of this former office for the ability to look like a hero for a 24 hour news cycle. Of course, ol' bubba was never really one for bringing dignity to that office in the first place. what does he care?

What I want to know is whether the Koreans set Bill up with a little nookie while he was there. Because, well, you know Bill.

I suspect Bill called in a favor to Kim Jong-Il in order to get President Barry a nifty little birthday present.

We should send Bill Clinton out more often.

What about that kid in Brazil who's mother took him from his father in the States, remarried, died and now the son is living with his step father and they won't let the son come back to the US. Hey, I know... LET'S SEND BILL to get him!

Umm ... still don't care.

You old folks and your insistence on dragging up previous wars, whether it's the Cuban Missile Crisis or the Korean War.

Wake me when you get serious.

Bill is a stud. I'd vote him King Of America any day.

Oh c'mon. Clinton didn't do anything but show up...it had been decided long before, I'm sure, that the cost of the "prisoners" (more like hostages, really) being released would be a credibility-enhancing visit from some major US dignitary. Everybody's acting like he decided on his own to show up, out of the blue, and sweet talked his way into Jong Il's heart. Actually, he flew out there at someone's request (probably Hillary's), got his picture taken, and got a bunch of free good press for doing really nothing at all. The whole thing is staged theater which allows Jong il to save face and look like a strong leader instead of the wacked-out rat bastard he is.

Maybe next time somebody gets kidnapped and imprisoned for no damn reason in some shithole backwater, we'll send Carter. Or Nancy Reagan. Or maybe even GW...he's not doing anything these days, and could use a boost of good publicity before the book he had ghostwritten about him appears in stores.

Schmacky @14 is right, but good old Lord Basil's explanation is certainly the most entertaining. Actually Lord, I killed Vince Foster. Dude owed me money.

Who gives a rat's ass about the methods? The women are freed. What more do you want? Even that homophobic turd Michael Medved was positive about the end results...so at least take some joy in someone else's happiness and success for fuxsake...

SO GLAD that they made it back safely. What a sense of relief for their families and friends, as well as the rest of us around the globe who were watching. Good on ya', Bill!
