Five Women Arrested In Prostitution Stings

Posted by on Mon, Aug 3, 2009 at 1:48 PM

Seattle Vice Detectives stepped up prostitution arrests along the Aurora corridor last week, busting five women in a series of stings between South Lake Union and the Bitter Lake neighborhood.

Police arrested three Seattle women, all in their 20s, a 25-year-old Bremerton woman and a 35-year-old Portland woman, after the women all allegedly agreed to have sex with undercover officers for money.

Two women were arrested on 8th and John and near 2nd Avenue in Belltown, while three other women were taken in to custody and near Aurora Ave N and N 125th Street during the stings, which took place between July 28 and August 1.

According to a police report, police were unable to book a woman arrested on August 1st into the King County Jail because, the report says, she was covered in open sores.

Reports indicate the stings were the result of increased complaints about prostitution along Aurora.

What is the going rate for sex with a woman covered in open sores these days?

If the SPD really wants to take a bite out of this, they'll aggressively bust the johns and not the hookers. Let all the hookers walk and put the john's picture on a milk carton.

@3 Damn right they do, I don't want to see that skank on Aurora Ave and the scum bags they attract. This is Rule #1 in how to create neighborhoods with a decent quality of life.

Isn't 25 "in your twenties"? That's a confusing sentence.

Meanwhile in Germany:

Recession-hit brothels offer novel promotions

German brothels are offering customers the chance to sleep with as many prostitutes as they like for a single fee, in recession-busting deals criticised as immoral by politicians.

The "flat-rate sex" promotions, which are based on all-you-can-eat restaurants, have been introduced by brothel owners in a bid to revive trade that has fallen around 30 per cent in the economic downturn...…

These are the prostitutes they should be busting. Legalize, tax, and regulate brothels, but keep the trash off the streets.

Uh, who picks up an Aurora hooker with open sores and fucks her?

Don't crimes have to have victims?

Who are the victims in this case?

@8—for the sake of argument, a number of street prostitution cases do sometimes lead police to aggressive pimps, exploited, drug addicted—and sometimes underage—girls, and a lot of other nastiness. Street prostitution is often very different from the stuff found on CL or in jack shacks.

I wish they would go after the guys driving along N Aurora who seem to think that every female on the side of the road will fuck them for money.

Perhaps the complaints about prostitutes are complaints about quality, rather than quantity.

I'd complain about a prostitute with open sores...

Prostitution is normal adult consensual behavior. It should be safe and legal.

Cheap, desperate johns apparently.

Several years ago, the San Francisco Chronicle did a series on the city's most desperate chronically homeless. One of the women featured was a prostitute and would groom herself by cleaning up the sores and scabs on her body, and she still made enough to keep up her drug habit.

Isn't this post just a recitation of a police report? I see no questioning of the police about how this affects crime, nor any interview with - I don't know - some sort of hooker advocate, to get their side of it.

So then, why isn't Savage calling Jonah a stupid fucking credulous hack? Seems like similar straight reporting on a pot busts never fails to get that treatment.

nothing says 'good morning' like a hooker leaning out of a john's car first thing in the morning and spitting out a load. not sure if i'd rather pick the used condoms from from front yard or hose away the spit......

nothing is wrong with prostitution as long as it's in a hotel room, apartment, house, motel, rv, etc. gets a little old chasing hookers and tricks in their cars from in front of my house.

I confronted a john in the Bitterlake neighborhood while he was slowing down to pick up a young girl. Then I took a picture of him and his car. He fled the scene but the girl asked if she could pet my puppy (not a euphemism). She was a young girl, a teenager, who still thinks pets are cute. She probably doodles flowers and hearts on her notebook. How can anyone think this is a victimless crime? Shame on you for your juvenile remarks about these victim prostitutes. I for one am going to do something about this. Bitterlake is my neighborhood and it has to stop. As for the picture of this gross middle aged rapist, where should I post it? I will continue to take these pictures and post them. Who doesn't enjoy the look of unrequited lust?
