Because Martin Selig wants it there. That's his building. He'll also fill the lobby with his shitty paintings like the building I work in.

Annoying the crap out of me, that's what it's doing there.

"Plop art", they call it.

It's making a statement on what passes for art these days.

Looks like construction waste. Clearly, I am too much of a Philistine to understand its deeper meaning.

The 6 lengthy skewers upon it can hold many politicians.

If you had ambitions beyond criticizing others', you too might be able to install what you wanted someday.

Ugh I could only imagine what that would be....a pregnant woman impaled with stakes??

@ 7 - I was so delighted when they removed that 'art' that was by the Paramount... There was much rejoicing, indeed...

Until that morning a few weeks later when I was driving down Airport Way and saw Those Same Three Abominations newly installed at the northern end of the light rail yard, across from Tully's-that-used-to-be-the-Rainier-Brewery.... AAaarrgghh!!

Yes, if there's one thing we need more of out of art, it's usefulness.

I like the constructivist style but this thing just sort of looks like a corporate logo rendered three-dimensionally. And it's one of my least favorite colors, periwinkle. It's got art-by-committee written all over it.

Looks like a bad I-beam mashup, spray-painted to look pretty, that fell down and embedded itself in the sidewalk. Pluck it out and move it to where it belongs in SLU.
