The Revolution Will Be Air Conditioned

Posted by on Tue, Jul 28, 2009 at 11:36 AM

Candidate Survivor, the only candidate forum guaranteed to ply you with liquor, is tonight in the Showbox at the Market. And it's free! See city council candidates answer uncomfortable questions about their relationships with Dino Rossi, and cheer them on during a talent contest. Two will sing a duet, one will rap, and another has requested three microwaves to show off his stuff.

The show begins at 7:00 p.m. but get there early to get a seat. The Showbox will be full. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Come early, get a drink, and bring your phone so that after each of three rounds you can text the losing candidates off the stage.

Hosted by Washington Bus spokesman Toby Crittenden and a panel of folks who have been drinking since breakfast: Co-founder of the Vera Project and Director of Development for the Seattle Theater Group Kate Becker, Government Relations Director for UFCW, Local 21 Sarah Cherin, and me. We'll ask the questions; you'll terminate the candidates.

Extra bonus: Challenger for City Attorney Pete Holmes will join us on stage. But you won't get to see City Attorney Tom Carr, who can't attend because he's busy jailing pot smokers, shutting down nightclubs, and popping children's balloon animals.

Extra, extra bonus: Air conditioning.

Are there iced drinks to go with the air conditioning?

How about a nice margarita?

you left out Carr's approving $75,000 of public funds to help a male city employee. It's a donation to his legal liability fund, so he can use it to pay a settlement to some chick who sued him. He was grabbing her boobs in public office.

Too bad he didn't work in SDOT, he could have gotten a promotion.

So it's jailing pot smokers, shutting down nightclubs, popping children balloon animals AND paying boob grabbers.
