OIf LBJ was president with the kind of majorities we have now, he wouldn't let those blue dogs push him around the way Obama is letting them push him around.
He'd tell them to bow down and get on board, or else, and in fact, if they didn't, they would be out of office next time.

Obama had a huge chance to build grass roots machiens everywhere including blue dogland like AR LA MT....he blew it and now he doesn't have anything to hold over their head.

He seems to think if he lectures them enough, the relentless wonkery will change their minds.

Its. Not. Happening.

The Blue Dog Democrat supports my theory:

Republicans lost in November.

But Republican ideology won!

Obama is liked when he acts like a Republican, and behaves like Bush (by most of country, but antagonizes minority Left).

Obama is shunned when he acts like scion of Weathergirl-hippie-post-60s-socialist.
