In the interview, Jim McDermott says of Dave Reichert and other Republicans who have been voting against health care reform: "There's no sense in trying to convince these people." Then he goes on (way past the one-minute buzzer, but I kept asking questions so really it's my fault) to talk about the need for a strong public option, the obstacles to change, and why the present model for health care reform actually makes a single payer health care system—his ultimate goal—a harder sell.
