McDermott, Inslee, and Murray Take To The Tubes In Support Of Health Care Reform; Cantwell Faces Another Protest Tomorrow

Posted by Eli Sanders on Wed, Jul 22, 2009 at 3:44 PM

My e-mail in-box today gives a pretty clear picture of where the key Democrats in Washington's Congressional delegation have ended up during this moment of scrutiny over their health care reform plans.

Via their press people:

Congressman Jay Inslee on FOX News talking about cost containment, which is one of the ways to win over the rebellious Blue Dog Democrats who are keeping his committee from voting on the reform bill:

Congressman Jim McDermott at a press conference talking about the need to ignore Republican scare tactics:

And Senator Patty Murray, making a floor speech about the hardships people in this state face because of the current broken health care system.

In contrast, and via the same people who organized the July 9 protest at Senator Maria Cantwell's Seattle office: another protest at Senator Maria Cantwell's Seattle office:

Physicians for a National Health Plan has a devastating critique of the current "public option" bill. It fails to qualify as either 'public' or as an 'option'.

With 50 million uninsured and states (especially California) killing social-service programs faster than Seattle can open cupcake shops, I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that the wanna-be-point-scoring Republicans, the fucktard "Blue Dog Democrats," and all the other gormless "Democrats" who are getting in the way of health-care reform... may be responsible for a pile of dead bodies that exceeds the Holocaust.

B.S. Democrats pimping for their favorite industries: Medical, Light Rail, Builders.

Don't they ever get tired of their own lies about doing it for the (1) elderly (2) homeless (3) children when it's all about funneling tax money to their cronies?

Of course there is a teensy weensy bit of truth to Wither's hardly withering mini rant.

That said, I'd rather have politicians of any ilk funneling money to their cronies WITH affordable health care for all.

Better than what we have had at least since Nixon: Politicians funneling money to their cronies while small business and the middle class go bankrupt and the poor die. And yes, rob! is right, many are dying.
