While Kristol says: "Go for the kill."

Cronkite tell-all: Shopped before the body is even cold.

One of the neighbors in the South Park attack on the two women referred to them as "a cute couple". Do the police think this was an anti-gay motivated crime? Or was it totally random?

Maybe if Obama had been a fierce advocate of change his approval on the major issues wouldn't be slipping? Just a thought....

Health Care desparately needs to be reformed.
However a bad plan will be more harmful than no plan.
Obama and the Democrats have not even scratched the surface of discussing the core issues that cause the problems which makes one suspect they don't understand them.

re:Obama falling approval

Slog keeps rushing to bury the GOP.
You underestimate the ability of the Democrats to self-destruct.
Stay tuned...

Yup, Obama's got as much aggression as one little pink pinky finger of LBJ.

He didn't get behind the idea of taxing incomes starting at $350K.

He hasn't even picked out a specific proposal he's for.

He hasn't explained how it reduces cost. Kinda difficult to do, you know, when you go for the hodge podge compromise no one can explain, instead of going with the road tested single payer model (the model with real world data showing lower costs; the model with the simple explanation -- we cut out profiteering insurance companies, we let government be in control, and fuck you yes, we ration care, duh!).

Most of all without a clear model he can't do anything but issue vague calls for reform.

He hasn't targeted the folks on the key committee like Cantwell or the democrats on the senate finance committee. How hard would it be for him to fill Husky Stadium with 75,000 screaming voters and make Maria commit to the public option -- and to taxing the rich to pay for it? How hard to fill a stadium in Baton Rouge AND the Superdome in NOLA....and filling whatever punkass tiny stadium they got out in ND and AR?
How hard to get 1-2 million on an e mail list in the state of florida alone to get that senator's vote locked down?

Um, not hard at all, if he bothered. But he'd have to get off his ass and work it for real change like he promised.

Why isn't the anniversary of the Moon Landing a national holiday?

@8, because that would imply we celebrate science and we all know that Jesus and Allah all hate science.

COMTE 10
Also, from a purely pragmatic standpoint, federal holidays are pretty evenly disbursed throughout the year, and this would give July two holidays.

But, that doesn't mean the event shouldn't be celebrated.

@8,

Very few of our national holidays have ever commemorated a single event. There's Independence Day, Veterans Day (which no longer honors Armistice), Columbus Day (which no one other than government offices bothers with), and what?

Even the holidays celebrating birthdays commemorate the individual more than the specific day of his birth.

Barack Hussein Obama has demonstrated how ineffectual he is (especially at proving his eligibility to be POTUS - still no long form birth certificate), and that's why his poll numbers are plummeting.

The.conservative backlash is coming, and the Teleprompter in Chief's head he spin after he is thrashed by hard traditionalists in the next two election cycles.

Comte, actually federal holidays are weighted to Fall and Winter; November and January both have two holidays, while October, December, and February all have one, thus having 7 of the 10 federal holidays in an approximately 4-month period (mid-October to mid-February).
